Top Teams (D5 and D6)

Post by d6wrestler »

I really think this year should be interesting, with a lot of new people wrestling 103, with alot of talent. Some teams for example lost a lot and have a hard time to replace such a talented team, such as Forest Hills. Teams like Richland, Ridge, North Star, Penn Cambria and Bedford lost a few starters, but come back with a lot of talent. Some teams, I'll call them cinderella teams, are gonna suprise people, like Westmont, maybe will be a team to watch out for.

D-5 TOP TEAMS

1). North Star- returning from a PIAA Team Dual appearance, lost a few good guys, but those guys can be replaced...
2). Chestnut Ridge- they are returning key starters, such as Downey, B. Pfahler, and Brandon Miller, gaining Gary Pfhaler, look for them to go for the title.
3). Bedford- Bedford returns great wrestlers, such as Ripple and Kensinger, but lost a few guns like their 189 lber (Name is lost)...but gain Cook who will win some matches for the Bisons.
4). I really don't know any other teams, maybe NBC is gonna fill in around here? I dont know....

D-6 TOP TEAMS

1). Richland- Richland went 12-5 next year, but started about 7 sophomores, a freshman, 2 juniors, and 2 seniors. The two seniors that they lost are going to be replaced, one being replaced by a junior high wrestler, in Chad Miller. Miller, Pecora, Sichak, Morder and others will help the Rams go for their first ever D6 title.
2). Tyrone- Tyrone lost a lot of wrestlers, Terry Tate, Bryce Mertiff, and another wrestler. Rumor said that Heath Walk wasn't wrestling anymore, whether thats true or false, Tryone still has a good Anthony Romano, and TJ Albright, who will probably carry on the Golden Eagles.
3). Penn Cambria- PC may have lost their best wrestler Gary Paronish, but the Link bro's, Paul Myers, and Shawn McMahon will make their lightweights tough to beat, and Zac Adams will achor the upper weights for the Panthers.
4-5). Westmont or Forest Hills- Both teams lost some good wrestlers, and it will be hard for both teams to fill their roles in their lineup. Forest Hills has a freshman phenom, David Fogle who will be 103. Westmont gets freshman TJ Keklak, Patrick Dumire, and Zach Bennett.

Any Other Thoughts? Feel free to add.

You named alot of good wrestlers but I think you left a lot of people out from some of the teams above. Forest hills has a good senior class coming back and have Chad Moyer and Tom McVicker. Also dont count out Cook from bedford he'll be pretty tough this year. Dont forget Zimmerman from Northstar jsut to name a few. I wouldnt go that far and saying Westmont and Forest Hills is out of the running for the D-6 title this season. As far as I see it, it's anyones year.

Yeah, I know I left a lot of good wrestlers out, but even if I would throw Moyer and Mcvicker, Baxter and Bernard into FH lineup, I really don't see them having enought to win the Title. As for Westmont, Westmont is strong at the light weights. Westmonts lightweights will wreslte tough against anyone, but I don't think they have enough experiance. Bennett, Patton, Polachek, and B. Dumire will be the studs in the westmont team, and I don't see them making a run either. I said that North Star was my D-5 Team to win...but yes, Sam Zimmerman does impact their team...

Don't forget about Kendall returning to the Bisons this year. He'll be a solid wrestler in the lower weights for Bedford as well...

Not to take anything away from you d6wrestler but if I remember right last year when Richland wrestled Forest hills didnt Travis moss have to run to make weight so thats another factor in this race. All im saying is give credit when credit is due.
