After many years of having one of the worst fields in the area, the Central Scarlet Dragons will be playing on a new field this coming spring. The infield has been totally re-surfaced, and lots of work is being done to make the entire area around the field better. Central will now have the second best field in Blair County, only behind Blair County Ballpark, the home of the Altoona Curve.

What all major changes did Central make to the field. Is there not a drop off in left field anymore? And what, if any, changes were made behind the plate? I remember going up there a couple years ago and it was extremely difficult to pick up the ball coming off the bat.

Bedford High has had a great place to play baseball for quite some time now. With ever changing improvements in the infield and to the batters boxes the field will once again remain on top of Bedford County for the nicest field.

And thanks for telling me where the Curve play. I had not a single clue as to where it was before. Thanks again.

i believe i played on centrals field once in a scrimmage a few years back...it was decent but nothing special...im sure the improvements will help out...

bedford's field...oh boy...the green monster in left field definetly is downside for pitchers such as my self at...the short porch never helped me as i hitter either as i hit left handed, and as most of you know, i wasnt much for taking the ball the other way...the infield is usually in decent shape but the outfield is rough at times...

everett...decent infield, poor outfield usually...not a bad field over all...

tussey or ridge is probably the worst field in bedford county...tusseys all dirt infield which gets covered in saw dust when wet...and ridge's field is typically a swamp even when it drizzles...

nbc's field has improved over the past few years with the new fence and somewhat leveled off infield...the little hill behind home plate was always a treat for catchers, but it has since been removed...

hyndman’s field probably wouldnt be as bad if it wasnt an all dirt infield and if they mowed the grass more than once a mounth...

my favorite place to pitch and play at in high school was probably mcconelsburg...the mound is terrific and the field all together is really put together nicely...

I don't think much of Bedford's field. Not very appealing to see someone muscle up and jerk a 280 ft pop up out of the park.

Haven't got to see NB's lately but could never pick up rotation with the sun in the eyes.

I always liked playing at the Legion field in Everett, but not the elementary field.

Tussey-I think Keith Williams about killed some track athletes.

CR--ahhh I'll stop it's obvious I just want points to play the games

Columbus Clippers- super nice field, clay is a little sticky on the mound

Williamsport Cutters- real nice, little run down

Clemson- really great mound, dangerous metal grates in the outfield

Altoona Curve- no complaints, backstop is pretty far if your catcher sucks

Gunners face would make a good home plate for how many times we step on it.

Bedford probably has the nicest field in the county. NBC would be second. As for Ridge and Everett I hate playing on those race tracks. On the down side of Bedford's field, the fence in left is absolutely way to short. Even I've been known to hit one opposite field and slide it over the fence.
