Jumps
Re: Jumps
travis hoover of nbc will look to get that d5 championship under his belt and possibly even a state medal as I know that he works year round even with soccer season, i would look to see him get the gold although young of ridge is the reigning d5 champion...
hoover beat young everytime until districts, which i think was 3 times to 1
and young won when it counted most.
so look for those 2 pole vaulters to be goin neck and neck
as for triple jump
i would say that jon marshal is the cream of the crop as he got 3rd last year while being injured and missing like half the season for bedford
so look for him to improve on that finish and possibly get a state championship.
in long jump this could get interesting with state medalist derrick harris of bedford returning as long as he doesn't get injured b4 districts again, as he got a medal as a sophomore, and then you have mock of ridge who got 5th last year in the state
i think that these 2 could both go to states which could get interesting there too.
i think that both long jumpers are seniors this year.

Re: Jumps
Look for Hoover and Young to battle it out in the vault, the triple is Marshal's for sure. The long could get interesting if Harris is back to full strength and ready to go. Mock and Harris could both finish high in the standing at states. In the high, look for Way to do very well, Tomovich of Ridge who cleared 6 last year, and Harris is always a chance, though this seems like his most inconsistent event. Maybe a couple of darkhorses out there too, just have to wait till the season starts to find out!
Re: Jumps
true to everything in that there jumper except marshall... i think that marshal hands down will get that, however if he gets injured again like last year then he could be out of contention even though i know that he toughed it out last year.
and i forgot all about ben way, and actually i just forgot to mention high jump.
but ben way i think will have a shot at a state title seeing as how he got i want to say 5th last year and ifert of southern fulton was only an inch higher then him at states and he got 2nd so way could contend for a higher medal surely and possibly the gold as i believe that the kid who won last year has since graduated.

Re: Jumps
Duece whats up bro..... Jay hit 6' 6'' at states that was two inches above Ben who hit 6' 4''... The state champ hit 6' 8'' "which is nuts", but im not sure if he was a senior or not..... I would bet money however that ben can hit 6' 6''..... It will definetly be something to watch for.....
Its not hard to fail.....
Its not easy to win....

Re: Jumps
good to see you back discman. the state champ is gone as is Jay making Ben tied with a couple of others as the top returners. 6'6" is definately almost guaranteed this year. He probably would have had it last year if not for injuries. And look for Tomovich to close in on 6'2" or maybe higher.
Re: Jumps
hoping that ben way doesn't get injured and he works for it in the off season... basketball should help a lot....he should be able to get 6'6" fairly easily for him at least
and possibly higher!
good luck!
