I have a whole schedule of road races for the entire year. I got it from a road race in Shanksville a few weekends ago. If anyone is interested, PM me and I can email you a copy of it.

Haha....thanks. I think it was especially impressive for three reasons. 1- It was my first road race EVER, 2- I hadn't done any running for about a week before hand because I was in Florida for spring break, and 3- My feet were horribly sunburnt! But it all worked out in the end. :-)

I love the steelers gatorade 5k starts at carnegie science center ends at the 50 yard line of heinz field. easy course and lots of door prizes, charity is some rooney family catholic thing but the event is really great.

brlnsoccerchick19, I can't say I ever ran a race with sunburnt feet. Your effort is even more impressive after your story. May this is not be your last road race.

d-nice I have heard the Steeler 5K is a nice race. Not sure when it is? Here is the Pittsburgh Post Gazette Running Calendar web site. Most races around the steel city.

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/03001/292901.stm

This web site is good for races in western Maryland, West Virginia, and southwest PA.

http://www.iplayoutside.com

This site is good for bigger races and you can usually register online....

http://www.active.com

And if you want to do a triathlon or duathlon

http://www.trifind.com

Shanksville Duathlon April 29... 4 mile run 17 mile bike ride.

Goodwill are you doing the Brumbaugh Run? I am healthy, do I get a shot at redemption??

the gatorade steelers used to be in june but now has been moved to september...
i think that is a bad move
i ran that race and for not being a collegiate race or scholastic it was the most competitive road race i have ever been in, but they moved it when people like me have cross country in college and the other athletes are having cross country in high school as well.
does anyone know why they decided to move the date?
i wish they would move it back to june or a different month
lol

hey berlinchick what was your time?
or racelink if you don't want to share
haha

Nah, I'll share. I ran the 5k in 24:30. Pretty good considering my goal was A- just to finish and B- to finish in 35 minutes. lol
