Kind of funny how it took 5.5 years to say this. I mean, now that bashing the President is the "in" thing, and wasn't the "in" thing a year after the terrorist struck. Why didn't he have the 'nads then to speak up? Typical Hollywood.

I agree, he should stick to acting. I also liked his old man's show "West Wing". But couldn't stand to listen to the guy outside of that show.

It must be hard being a liberal? I don't think it's ever been easier. If the results of Bush's stay in the white house didn't have such terrible consequences, it would be downright funny.

Shall we take a look at what Bush has done for us lately? Iraq war aside, he nominated a new justice to be the chief justice on the supreme court (instead of one with a track record). He nominated Harriet Meyers, who his own party pressured to step down. There was the whole Katrina fiasco. Oh, and how about getting a country with 9/11 ties to run our ports? Once again, a move so stupid his own party objected. The republicans have had full control of the house and senate for about 5.5 years now and what sweeping changes have they made? You can blame the democrats all you want for social security, but the bottom line is that if Bush could have just convinced everyone in his own party that his idea was any good, it would have passed.

So far everyone has called Charlie Sheen an idiot, but nobody has refuted anything he said. Maybe he has a point, maybe not. I'd have to read a lot more to see if what he said is plausible. I never thought that much about it from the WTC perspective. I will admit that I have had questions about flight 93. We've all seen footage of plane crashes. One thing they all have in common is that the plane is present in the footage. I still don't see how a plane can crash and the plane can't be found. Yeah, I know, I'm just a liberal conspiracy theorists asking stupid questions.

John Roberts had one of the most extensive records of judicial experience in the Circuit Courts of anyone to be on the Court. If you're suggesting that to be Chief Justice you should have some experience on the Supreme Court to do a good job, well there is no evidence to suggest that. All the Chief Justice does extra is to oversee the federal court system, in other words, act as an administrator, requiring an entirely different set of skills.

Sure, entirely all of Bushs' fault. Never mind the fiasco known as the media coverage of the whole thing. Remember the predictions of "tens of thousands dead", "stacks of bodies" in the basement of the dome, "alligators swimming in the streets", "babies being raped". Typical liberal insanity to think that the federal government can wave a wand and solve every problem that exists in a split second.

Not exactly true. Remember the Jeffords switch at the beginning of the Bush presidency that gave Democracts control of the Senate?

What sweeping changes have they made?

(1) Campaign Finance reform.
(2) Tax cuts for everyone who pays taxes.
(3) Medicare Part D (perscription drugs)
(4) No Child Left Behind (even drunken Teddy Kennedy sponsored that legislation).
(5) Afghanistan is far more of a stable country and ally then it has been in the past twenty years.
(6) Sarbanes-Oxley (corporate accountability act, again with the support of Democrats).
(7) Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003.
(8) The Patriot Act
(9) CAFTA, The Central American Free Trade Agreement.
(10) The recent treaty with India.
(11) The Department of Homeland Security (the largest reorganization of the bureaucracy since the New Deal, again, with support of Democrats).

Again this is absolutely not so. Even if Bush could convince every single Republican in the Senate (55) to support his Social Security plan, he would still need at least five Democrats to sign on to envoke cloture (requiring 60 votes), thus allowing the Senate to vote for final passage. Having the majority pretty much allows you to do anything you want in the House, but in the Senate, 60 votes is always the magic number.

I'm pretty sure if you ask anyone who does precision demolition, they will say you just don't pack explosives into the bottom of a building and set them off. Rather, key components and pieces of the infrastructure must be removed in order to get the building (especially one the size of the WTC) to come down in a heap.

Let me just follow up on this one point though.

So OAR, we have to refute every lunatic, left wing conspiracy theory put out there? There's not enough time in the day.

Most plane crashes occur in a manner that the pilot is trying to save himself and others by landing it wherever. Not the case with flight 93. That plane was driven straight into the ground at full speed. The shock could be heard and felt for miles away. You say no plane was found? How much of the plane do you think would be left intact after a crash like that? Please stop reading liberal blogs NOW.

So where's the plane? I guess you are suggesting that the government went up there and blew a hole in the ground. That the people in the community didn't see a plane going down? Or is your theory that the plane was packed with explosives so that nothing would be left? I'm sure the families of the deceased would love to discuss this with you.

Last night on CNN they were discussing Sheens comments with the radio show host who interviewed him. Now the radio host believes the same thing as Sheen, and I guess he is a Hollywood insider. He says there are many people in Hollywood who believe 9/11 was done by our own government as an excuse to start a war. They reference documents from the 1950's and 60's that indicate the govt discussed doing this and blaming it on Russia to use as an excuse to attack. That's a big leap of faith from Cold War documents to today. He also said they have experts who say there is no way the buildings would collapse like they did. And that if you watch footage of the building 7 collapse you can see detonations.

Now I'm no expert, but I can see how an airliner packed with fuel can crash into a building, getting the steel columns hot enough to cause the top of the building to collapse onto the bottom. But what do I know.

If Charlie Sheen and his cronies have all of this proof, then they had better get it to the public. Because this would probably be the biggest conspiracy ever. But we'll never see it because it only exists in their minds. OAR anything is plausible. It is plausible that I am wealthy beyond belief, but I'm not. Just because something is plausible doesn't mean it has one element of truth to it.

I'm not in this for a Rep v Dem argument. I'm starting to agree with OAR that the Republicans could have done more with all of their time. But the Dems have done very little to capitalize on this. I have no idea exaclty what they stand for other than fighting everything Bush attempts to do. But that's another day, a different topic.
