The Most Hated Baseball Player Since.......

Post by frostlion »

Dave Parker perhaps? At least they are not throwing batteries at him..

(This is not an enhanced photo, a fan actually threw this at him)

I agree with retro! Does anyone think that Bonds should be concerned with his safety? I saw last night that Bud said that the pictured incident was a shame. Does anyone think that MLB should step in and protect Bonds, beef up security in left field, etc...???

Nah. Having syringes thrown at him is probably the least of his concerns. I'd be more worried about his off field safety, but he likely has the dough to hire a security firm. And he should be REALLY worried if he breaks Babe Ruth's record, and even more so if he does that to Hank Aaron's.

Does make you kind of wonder if Bonds will get the same kinds of threats that Aaron was getting when he broke the Babe's record.

He'll get more than what Hank Aarons got after breaking Babe's record, if he does ever make it to Aaron's record. If he even passes Babe Ruth's career homeruns, he'll need some beefed up security. After all, 90 odd percent of Americans believe (in absence of 100% certainty) that he KNEW he was taking roids, and that that enhanced his home run total a lot. In other words, he broke the records of the some of the greatest baseball players of all time by purposely CHEATING.

Ironically though, he's in a bit of a broken down state due to steroids, and may not reach Hank Aaron's record. I hope he doesn't break Babe's either, but since he's only seven homers away, it's probably a foregone conclusion.

The real question is whether or not Bonds will hit another homerun. All this talk about the record and no talk about how terrible he's playing this season. Either he's still hurt or his career is pretty much over. He hasn't looked this bad since he was a rookie.

Bonds tweaked his knee in yesterday's game. He might want to just stick to his television show Bonds on Bonds and think about giving baseball up. I can't believe how terrible he's playing.

He quit taking the roids and now he is showing his age on the field. Like I said without steroids he would have been this bad 3 or 4 years ago or maybe even a lot sooner with his history of injurys throughout his career. And that would have put him back down in the 500's and not even have been considered in the same sentence as Aaron, Ruth or Mays. I bet his dad has done turned in his grave.
