I just read the paper and saw that coach Lepley resigned from NS. I have to say that I was shocked by this. I was even more suprised when I saw the reason. It seems as though it is for the lack of dedication from some of his wrestlers. There must be some serious problems for a coach that loves the sport to just quit. Anyone have any other info on what all was going on? I am torn on what to think. On one hand I don't think it sets a very good example for the kids that are working hard but on the other hand I applaud him for standing up for what he believes in.
I do have to wonder what is going on with some of the area schools though. First coach Husick gets fired after a pretty good season at Tussey then coach Lepley has to resign because of lack of support when kids don't want to practice. I am personally getting sick and tired of this crap where kids and parents run a program and the coaches in essence become a baby sitter.
NS best be very careful. It wasn't that long ago that a certain coach left Bedford when parents and kids decided to be idiots. The program hasn't been the same since!!!

This really comes as a shock. I had heard earlier in the season that NS had some wrestlers that participated last year, but were not out this year due to lack of dedication. Never thought any more of it, except that they just couldn't tough it out for the 5 months of the season. Now that the coach has stepped down, you have to step back and think. I also was surprised when Husick was fired. Tussey had a great season and, I believe, close to a full squad. Wrestling, even though a school team, is a one on one sport. You can't blame very many people for your shortcomings. It takes very special and dedicated athletes to participate and remain dedicated to it for about 5 months of the year, and that is not counting the time off season that many of the kids put into it. That is the time that separates everyone. Hopefully NS will find a coach that has high standards and dedication. Good Luck with that!!!
