Pitt Becomes Bowl-Eligible at 3-9

Post by The Ancient Enemy »

As if the bowl games weren't enough of a joke, how about we add 4 more? Do you even have to play a game anymore to become bowl eligible? Basically all this did was make sure there is absolutely no way in Hell that Notre Dame can ever miss a bowl berth. That's okay, I'm looking forward to Jimmy "Liberace" Clausen to extend that 0-8 bowl streak to 0-12. Four national championships, guys! Just like Rick and Casey gave Tennessee.

PSU 21st century stats:

Barely .500 in the 21 century and an average record of a whopping 6W-5L!

26W-31L for the first 5 years of the new millenium!

Smartest coach in America=kicked ball directly to the best return man in America after taking the lead with less than 1:00 left in loss to Michigan! (OK, now let's hear all of the complaints about how bad the officiating was that game, hahaha!)

0-1 against Pitt in the 21st century!

0 points against Pitt in the 21st century!

Pitt 12 PSU ZERO in the 21st century!

PSU's deepest penetration vs. Pitt in the 21st century=35 yard line!

WE ARE...PENN, errrr, I mean, WE ARE...SHUT OUT!!!!!

There, that ought to end it.

NUFF SAID!

Pitt's BCS record 0-1. Outscored by 4092085 by the shovelpass alone.

Penn State's BCS 1-0.

But you guys are right, it's the PSU fans that hold on to this game and want it so badly again, right? I think WPIAL-Titans last post ends that suspicion.

And still, despite that glorious Pitt victory, where 55,000 people showed up at Three Rivers (49,000 of them PSU fans) Pitt was humiliated by Iowa State in the Insight.com bowl.

Well, I guess Marino would have taken a 12-0 victory in 1981.

Not sure how TAE's post on the bowl games ended up talking about Iowa/PSU by WT like it answers the question. Talk about looking for anything to jump on another team about. This bowl system is crazy. so now 62 of the nations 117 teams a bowl game. Is this really necessary? It's nice to see your team go to a bowl game, but do you really want to go to something that is that ridiculous? They need to spend more time on the title games and less time on how to water down the field.
