Doug Hogue, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound running back from Roosevelt High in Yonkers, N.Y. may be the hottest prospect on the east coast at this point in time.
Hogue recently raved about a visit to Penn State, and according to Roosevelt Assistant Head Coach Tom Drago, he added to his offer list after yet another unofficial visit to the Keystone State and the Pitt Panthers.
“We had a great time visiting Pittsburgh,” Drago reported. “Doug really enjoyed talking with Coach (Dave) Wannstedt, and they have now officially offered Doug a scholarship.”
The Scout.com three-star prospect also recently took in a session of camp at Syracuse.
“Doug had a great time camping at Syracuse,” Drago informed. “He ran a 4.4 in the forty and the coaches let him know that he was the number one player on their whole board at this time.
“Doug now has in hand official offers from Penn State, Maryland, Syracuse, Temple, Rutgers, Michigan and Michigan State. Florida State has indicated that they are joining the recruiting battle for Doug, and even though his top three has not changed anytime a school like Florida State comes calling you listen.”
As a junior, Hogue rushed for 1,463 yards and 12 touchdowns earning himself All-Section and All-League honors for his efforts.
