FH crushes Bedford

WOW!! FH came to Bedford last night and laid a huge beating on the Bisons. I was very impressed with the FH team I saw. They were balanced on offense and aggressive on defense. Bedford had 0 answers for anything they did. Bedford did just enough for 2 1/2 quarters to keep it interesting but FH was in total control even then. Hats off to the Rangers they are the better team.

Look for Bedford to make some big changes because they got exposed in many areas last night. Bedford just needs to move forward and forget about this game. Because there is another big one this week.

Tough loss for the Bisons last night but let's hope Bedford responds the way Forest Hills did last year after they got their beating at home in Week 3.

Just a little sidenote to all the FH fans...

Don't get me wrong, Forest Hills played one hell of a game and exposed our weaknesses on the field and on the sidelines, but Bailey keeping in the starting 11 up until 2 mins to go in the game, up 23 points, and STILL throwing the ball vs. Bedford's backups is a little much. I guess they were on here reading about the third tiebreaker for the LHAC Championship(which doesn't exist according to Head Roadie) and felt that 23 wasn't enough and they needed that extra 7 to put them over the hump! Or maybe it was payback for beating you 2 years in a row pretty handily, I don't know. But either way, it was a little sickening.

I'll have to talk to someone who saw the game films to see if you are right. All I know is this: I stood the entire game in the endzone which does not have the scoreboard. Beside me was a guy from Bedford. Bedford had a 2nd down with about 5:35 to play. The play was a pitch out to Feaster. He was hit going into the line and fumbled the ball back toward the endzone where I was standing. A Bedford kid clearly landed on the fumble, but the clock stopped at 5:22, even though there was not a change of possession. I said to the guy next to me, "How come the clock is stopped"? He didn't know. Bedford then ran another play on third down, the punted on 4th down. When the Rangers got the ball back, there was about 4:30 in the game. All starters for both were still in the game until that time. Not sure what exactly happened after that point, but FH ended up on the 7 yardline with about 2:25 to play. Should they have knelt down 4 times? Don't make it sound like FH was running up the score with 270 seconds left in the game.

I think what Ham is referring to was just prior to FH being at the 7. They were out around the 30 yard line or so, and I think it was 3rd down. Up by 23, I would have expected a run, but they passed for a first down. Then a play or two later there was a 20 yard run or so down to the 7. I was wondering myself, why would you have your starters in with a couple of minutes left to play, up by 23, and run a pass play? It seemed like they wanted to score again. Any ideas why?

I will actually try to be a neutral party here.

Bedford did put 41 up on Somerset the week before and the starters were in well after the game was decided.

Now, as far as FH running it up. They did run it up a little. But, its hardly the first time coach Bailey has done that. I remember a playoff game in 94 against Bedford when he was up by close to 30 in the 4th quarter and called a fake punt.

Bedford scored its last TD against Somerset the week before by throwing a TD pass!

Not as impressive when you're on the other end of a shellacking.....

Whe did these so-called Bedford Backups enter the game? I thought their starting D was in the game during that last TD drive. Also Bedford's tackling was SO sloppy at the end, that FH couldn't help but make positive yardage on any play.

I'll agree with Moldy that I don't think FH scored the last TD against backups. Didn't sound like backups were in there from the radio announcers.

Can't comment on the Somerset game other than to say that Bedfords QB is new to the system and needs the practice, especially with a big game coming up. But I don't think I would be throwing the ball, or have my starters in the game for that matter, once a game is decided. Rearick, however, doesn't need the practice.

FH looked very good and just killed Bedford on the line of scrimmage. This game should be a good learning experience for Bedford. No time to rest with PC and CC games the next two weeks.

Just got back into town tonight, so here we go...

That was in the third quarter to get the game up over or to the 35 point mercy rule in highschool football, EARLY third quarter. Once they got over it, the pulled the starters...

FH did not need to try to score when they were up 23 points with 5 mins to go in the game. There was no chance they reach the mercy rule at that point and even if there was, there was 5 minutes to go in the game. But that was last week, and things have a way of turning on you, so we'll see...
