Pitt Hoops
Lets just think here
Gonzaga playing UNC on a neutrel court tonight
Kansas playing Florida Saturday
if those 2 teams happen to lose
guess whose gonna be number 1 in the Ap poll?

Re: Pitt Hoops
And we know what happens when people start to pat the Pitt basketball team on the back.

well since Pitt hardly gets respect im not too sure what getting pat on the back would feel like
I think it would make a huge jump to an allready solid basketball program
Being ranked number 1 means nothing in reality but Pitt normally does get screwed by the Tournament comittee
and lets get down to it by saying no team in bball is going undefeated so if Pitt lost when the were #1 they wouldnt drop as far as they will when they lose as being ranked 3 or 4
and as to my knowledge I do not know of any Pitt Basketball team being ranked #1....EVER

Re: Pitt Hoops
Pitt's basketball program never gets patted on the back? They never have huge expectations?

yeah im pumped for pitt this season. In a way id rather have them flying under the radar this early in the season but being number 1 would be amazing. I just hope it doesnt get to the players heads cause they got a real good team this year. I would rather see them playing more physical then they are now though.

Re: Pitt Hoops
What's so amazing about it? Don't about 25 teams usually end up #1 during the NCAA basketball season?

different views i suppose TAE???
but anyways
anyone get down to the Pete to see them?
Ive been down there twice
Gray is 100% improved hes looking like an NBA Center
Cook fits in well surprisingly
Ramon is more aggressive in taking 3's
Graves and Benjamin are still inconsistent and out of control
and the Petersen Events Center is still the top homecourt advantage in the confrence

Yeah I went to the Umass game so i didnt see much of gray. What I like about this team is that they dont need to rely on 2 or 3 players to score all the points. They can get points from gray, kendall, ramon, young, cook, graves, biggs, fields, and maybe benjamin. Sam Young really needs to step it up he can be a force. Ramon looks like the guy that should be taking most key shots. Biggs really improved plus lost a lot of weight this year. Im looking forward to this year. With some people saying Pitt may have one of the top 5 toughest schedules we are in for an exciting season.

Pitt absolutely destroyed Florida State tonight. The Panthers led by as much as 36 points at one point in the second half before Jamie Dixon called off the dogs.
Pitt's unselfish play continued as they assisted on 28 of their field goals.
Pitt did all this while Aaron Gray scored only 9 points. He did that on only 4 shots. This Pitt team is more explosive offensively than any Panther team in the Dixon/Howland era. Couple that with their always stellar defense, it should make for an exciting season.
