LHAC vs. All the other Scrub Conferences
LHAC vs. All the other Scrub Conferences
Bedford, last night, beat Tussey Mountain.
Bedford was 2-7 entering the game. Tussey was 8-2.
Bedford had only one win in the LHAC entering the contest. I'm sure Tussey had more than that in their conference, and are probably near, if not at the top.
What am I getting at here? What I'm always getting at. There is no comparison to the LHAC to the other conferences around here. I'd love to see what Bailey would do if he had to go to CC and play a game up there. Or Penn Cambria. It would be commical.
Tussey does have the best fans ever though. After losing a tough game, and 40+ year old man decided it was a good idea to shove a 17 year old player after the celebration went a little close to him. Then when others reacted, he was crying foul!(which happened all night long, Tussey never fould, and Bedford ALWAYS did!) I wondered why I wanted to go to that game last night, after watching what I did last night, there is no mystery to it anymore.

Re: LHAC vs. All the other Scrub Conferences
Ham, I think you need to get your facts straight about what happened last night at the game. I was the person who was shoved by a Bedford fan, when all I did was put my hands up to protect myself from the onrushing celebration(and if you are so superior as you say, why was you team, fans and coaches acting like you just won the final four, you have almost a 2 to 1 enrollment advantage on Tussey and you don't go into the game expecting to win, very classless on your team's part for sure), a fan from Bedford shoved me, so I shoved him back, because I did not do anything to merit a shove from anyone(I have witnesses who will attest to this). I am the Elementary B-ball Coach at Tussey and have always tried to have some class and have good sportsmanship win or lose. You can ask around if you don't believe me, but I will not have you distort facts to defame my character!
Re: LHAC vs. All the other Scrub Conferences
Tussey would be competitive with almost every laurel highlands team. They played right with central this year before losing by about 10. While they may not win against the LH elite, they certainly would not go and get blown out by 40.
Yea, I know. You're never wrong. It's always someone elses fault. I appologize for not realizing this earlier. Never once in my life have I seen such a violent display of protection from a 5' 10" 160 lb. 17 year old celebrating a win vs. a rival. But hey, you've got witnesses, so I guess I should step down now and appologize.
It all starts with the headcoach. If he acts like a DONKEY during the game, why should you expect anything different from his players and fans. Telling a Bedford coach he was gonna "kick his TUSHY". WOW. Awesome!
And where did I say I was superior? Or is that the mindset you have about everybody from Bedford, that we all think we're superior? You better check yourself, or should I be thanking you for the compliment!? We're superior to Tussey! YAY!
unknown,
Competitive and winning are two different things. Bedford has been competitive in all their games this year with the exception of a bad quarter for the most part.
I would love to see Bailey's reaction to some of the calls he would get at CC and PC during basketball season. If he thought last night was a mockery, he hasn't seen anything yet.

In reply to what sharpshooter said about Bedford having double the enrollment and should expect to beat Tussey, No offense to Bedford or anything but even they would admit their team this year is far less than superior and how can you expect to beat anyone when ur record is around what 3-8? Tussey was undefeated in the Sideling Hill League and from what I have seen from watching both teams this year, is a far better team than Bedford. But hats off to Bedford for a huge win, and maybe this will give them some confidence heading into their LHAC schedule.
Also in reference to the LHAC being better than all the rest by far, check out this stat:
Last night 8 teams from the LHAC had games, all nonconference ones. And guess how many of them won? All 8. Even winless Bishop Carroll and 1 win Richland came up with victories.

If only I were here from the start of this thread.....
But I can still have a little bit of fun...
thanks sharpshooter for bringing to attention the enrollment numbers, ahh yes, those magical numbers that prove instantly who the better teams are. Well golly gee, they have more people in their school, that means they have a bigger selection of good ball players.....yea, and Michael Jackson is a father, move it on...
Words can't even express how pathetic a conference must be when their top dog loses to the cellar dwellars from another conference. Regardless of how many students are enrolled. What about all those years in the past when Tussey beat bedford? I didnt hear anybody getting all butt-hurt about the numbers then, only when you lose. Wait a tick, that sounds like something, o whats the word???? o yea, an EXCUSE!!! losers always have excuses, whatever happened to getting it done on the hardwood?

Here are Bedford's results from the season.
Bishop Carroll- won 77-53
Westmont- lost 30-73
Penn Cambria- lost 25-63
Central Cambria- lost 42-75
Blairsville- lost 49-61
Central- lost 44-63
Cambria Heights- lost 38-44
Tussey Mt.- won 48-46
Ham, I'm not sure of your definition of competitive but I call a loss by 20 points or more a blowout. I'd hate to see the scores if Bedford was not competitive.
