Bedford - Ridge game, Who's the Idiot????

Post by oldsport »

I'd like to know who the blooming idiot was that decided to make the call to postpone all the Bedford - Ridge events for yesterday but foremost the baseball game , any forecast called for improving conditions as the day went and that is exactly what happened, at game time the sun was out patchy clouds and the high winds has subsided considerably. Bedford goes to Forest Hills last week in conditions 10 times worse than yesterday and the game went on as scheduled. Also funny how both Tussey's baseball and softball and NBC's softball teams all managed to play in the supposedly horrendous conditions. Field was in great shape went by at Noon and it was groomed, lined and ready to go. I also heard that they wanted to reshedule it for today but CR didn't want to. If thats true and they may have had a perfecly legitimate reason, with the weather that's being forecast for the next several days there are probably going to be more postponements and it's going to get to the point where these teams are playing 4 & 5 games a week. Worse yet this particular game may end up getting cancelled so either one of the teams can makeup in a league game instead. So if there was no reason other than they just didn't want to play today that is idiotic also.

The game was called by our AD. Bedford coaches had nothing to do with the cancellation and they wanted to play all the way. We played over at Forest Hills when it was about 5 degrees and hailing. It was probably one of the nicest days as far as weather yesterday, and I'm still pretty jacked that the game was called off. As far as the reschedule for today, yes it's true Bedford asked Ridge to play at our field...but Ridge declined (not sure of the reason). Also, there was discussion of having a double header, but this was also shut down because Ridge did not want to play both games at Bedford, and likewise Bedford did not want to give up the game at home either. Right now the game is hesitantly scheduled as Bedford's last game of the year. The day after we travel to Ridge and play.
