Phil Steele, psychic warrior and college football genius, has put out his new magazine for all us idiots to read. I must say, it is difficult to read this without the use of a magnifying glass. But Phil Steele has been the most accurate preseason guru the past 8 years.

Little Lions gotta play in Ann Arbor again, and I will say once again that Penn State will never turn the corner as a major Big Ten contender on an annual basis until they can win on a decent basis in Ann Arbor and Columbus. Steele says that he thinks Penn State can go undefeated. That's maybe a stretch considering that they really play every single quality Big Ten team this year, including a very overrated Wisconsin, but they are kinda catching Iowa and OSU and even Michigan on what I think will be less-than-usual years in regards to how good they are. I think Michigan may be the best of an above-average lot for Big Ten teams this year, and I think they can even go undefeated, only to be powerbombed Vader style in a BCS game. Penn State going undefeated will be nice, but I really think it'll look better than what it really i, because I think the Big Ten will be minus a national-title contention team in 2007.

Pitt is predicted at 5th. Looking at Pitt's schedule, I can maybe see them going 6-6, but then I remember who the coaches are. They should win all the games they in all honesty should win, but I doubt they beat Navy or Michigan State. I think Pitt's guaranteed losses will be WVU, UL, Rutgers. I would say they have a 50-50 chance with all of the following: Michigan State (its gonna depend on how the new coaches have changed the mentality up there, plus MSU is the last team on Earth you wanna play in the first half of the year), Virginia (they are supposedly the most improved team in the nation), Navy (you never know anything about Navy, they win games and lose games they never should), Cincinnati (this is gonna be a nice matchup, I like that coach from CMU and I'm excited to see how he does with a decent roster), USF (I'm not sold on USF yet, I think Pitt has a good chance of beating an overrated team here). You have to keep in your mind who the coaches are at Pitt. Last year, the two best spots on that team were at Linebacker and Wide Receiver. Wanny was basically forced to fire people, and he honest to God fired his LB coach and WR coach. Rationalize that. Still there are Matt Cavanaugh, supposed mastermind and the genius behind those 40 years of god-awful Ravens offenses, and ace knucklehead Paul Rhodes, who may or may not have realized for '07 that making adjustments is a decent way to stop a team from racking up 900 yards of offense against you. I would think Pitt will go 6-6, but when I remember who calls these plays on both sides of the ball, I would not be surprised if Pitt goes 3-9. All that plus the fact they lost key players.
