You lose the two worst starters, Morelli and Scott. On defense, you lose Connor and maybe Justin King, but from what I have seen of King's play, as much as I like the kid, he is a little overrated. He's not good enough to make it in the NFL yet, but he might leave.

So you return basically the whole line, all the receivers except Golden who is the worst of a good lot, and you get Royster in the backfield, which is better than Scott. You also have Daryl Clark. You bring in Pat Devlin, who is very highly touted and very highly wanted. Defensively, you reload as usual. Lee moves inside and has a monster year, Bowman will be huge, and so will the secondary. Def. line will be better.

This whole team is still young. But it doesn't matter how good you are if the coaches are terrible. You might as well pack up shop and start playing Devlin for next season. They are completely out of the big Ten race now. But, with a few new faces brings new opportunities, and I'm excited about next season.

I hope that we keep King, and we should be starting Evan Royster before Austin Scott, having him get some touches this year (RS Freshman) would be a huge advantage for years to come. Also, the possibility of getting Terelle Pryor from Jeanette HS is a HUGE advantage if we can get him.

PSU is returning D. Will, Deon Butler, Terelle Golden, Andrew Quarless.......the list keeps going on the offensive side of the ball.

We have Lydell Sargent, 'Punchy' Scirroto, A.J. Wallace, (hopefully) Justin King, Tyrell Sales, Sean Lee, among others on defense staying.

Also actively recruting Deion Walker (#6 prospect in the country @ WR, whose Official Visit was the same day as the Notre Dame game)

All in all, we have alot to look forward to......just hopefully PSU will do something unheard of and start a young running back or young quarterback his freshman year.

They don't have much choice next season. What I am worried about is jackass Paterno shoe-horning Clark or Wallace into the backfield.

They will not get Pryor he supposedly said that his top 3 are Flordia, Ohio State, and West Virginia. The way we are playing we are not going to get him back in the running. I mean the chance isnt over but I personally dont see it happening. If he does come he will play WR his first 2 years much like Robinson.

What from the last two weeks suggests that PSU is capable of turning it around? Morelli sucks. It's that simple. Joe should name a starter at the begining of the week at RB, then go with the other guy. Whoever is the "starter" ends up fumbling and the other guy gets put in and does relatively well in producing yards.

It will be nice for this PSU team to get back home to Beaver Stadium in 4 of their next 5 games. The only road trip being to Indiana. BUT, they play 3 ranked teams in the next 5 games, and they play an Iowa team who they've had a history of losing to recently. If they beat Iowa and can get up early on Wisconsin and force Donovan to beat them through the air, they'll have a good chance at running the table. Granted, PSU has started slow in every game, so a fast start vs. Wiscy is not very likely. This team has zero confidence, and they need a big W to spark a possible run.

10-2 is not entirely out of the question with a New Years Day bowl game still in the picture. But, unless things drastically change, they're not gonna be able to beat Iowa or Indiana, let alone Wisconsin or Ohio State.

They've reached a cross-road in the season this saturday and the saturday after. These two games could be the reason they go 10-2, or 7-5. I guess we just have to wait and see.

Personally, I still think Pryor has a chance to go to PSU....

This year's team isn't what matters, it's the recruiting class and if PSU will give him the assurance of playing time. He visited here **unofficially** during the Notre Dame game where he had about 5,000 students chanting his name and the phrase "Be a Lion." The fact that it was an unoffical visit means he's probably going to come back for another one (I'm not sure exactly what that means and how it factors in)......which will be (most likely) the Ohio State game. That game could be the Pryor Bowl, to the victor goes the QB.

Anyone who was at that game has got to have PSU near the top of their list. I look for him to choose a Pennsylvania school if at all possible, and Penn State is probably his best bet at this point.

Yes, I remember the last PSU loss to Iowa. Ferentz sent up a pinch hitter who hit a two run homer in the bottom of the 9th in a 6-4 victory...

I wouldn't assume that four 4-star commits puts PSU on top. Michigan currently has twelve 4-stars signed for next year and OSU has seven 4-star and two 5-stars commits. I would not assume that Pryor will go to PSU because the students chanted for him. I actually think WVU and OSU make the most sense because he would be in line to start at QB his sophomore year (after Pat White and Todd Boeckman graduate). Penn State will have Devlin the next two years.

As for Penn State 2008, I had thought they would be a top 5 team and I still think they will be good, but they have not looked good the past two weeks. Plus, next year they must go to the 'Shoe and Michigan is still on the schedule. I don't see them winning either of those. They better hope #33 and #2 for OSU go pro because otherwise they will leave the 'Shoe with single digit scoring once again.

You could have a JV team out there, Wildcat, and no matter who the PSU QB is, if this staff stays intact and continues to coach this way, they'll score single digits on the road forever. It's a disgrace and it is disgusting.
