Here is a list of why he will be back in 2008.
1. He has a huge contract, I think we are still paying Gottfried aren't we?
2. We are getting rid of Rhoads and will have to eat his huge contract as well.
3. Wanny has done an unbelievable job of building the many bridges that Walt Harris burnt with the WPIAL coaches. His recruiting has been very good.
4. If Wanny promises to can his two coordinators, hire new ones, and relinquish all offensive and defensive duties to them, then he can stay. If he refuses to fire anyone, then he gets fired.
The word in Oakland is that the Pitt Administration did meet with Wannstedt last week after the Virginia and UConn debacles. It seems the topic of discussion had something to do with assistant coaches.
