I don't think I'd ever be sorry that I missed a girls basketball game. I'm sorry but its just way too slow for me to enjoy. That's just my opinion though because I'm sure that some people love girls basketball.

Girls Basketball is good basketball, while they are playing with girls  & the guys are a way better game to watch..
( my opinion ) .They can do so many more things than the girls can... the level of play is like apples to oranges in comparison..

I will admit one thing.. In the last few years the ladys shoot a better foul shot than the boys teams.. I don't know if it's because of the size of the ball being one inch smaller in diameter or what :?: but it's a proven fact

Guys on the other hand, can leap out of a gym... BUT.... you can't measure the strenghth accuratley enough because they are two different types of people here. Girls can be as viscious under-neath the boards or foul ~wise amoungst other GIRLS...

I give a huge edge to the Guys basketball -Vs- the Lady's, simply because they are better level of play...If they played each other, boys -Vs- girls... It wouldn't be a pretty sight...

I enjoy watching both levels of hoops competition.. You just have to shift gears when watching one -Vs- the other

GIRLS play a great game -Vs- GIRLS, & visa versa with the guys....

I have to says chops that the fm girls can take anything! some schools their girls may not be able to take the beatings that some boys give but the fm girls have played against the guys from our school and some of the girls got more agressive than the boys and believe me when i say the boys WERE trying! and i am sure most other girls can get in their and be as aggressive as the boys! GIRLS CAN DO ANYTHING THAT BOYS CAN DO... AND A LOT OF TIMES THEY CAN DO IT BETTER!

If your girls team can compete with your guys team, then the guys team has a serious problem...

Pennstatefootballfan,

I'll agree with you on one point.... Girls can do anything that guys can.... YES! but against girls they can... That's why girls teams, play girls teams & the guys play against, the guys  The level is not on the same playing field & it shouldn't be ... Girls play a different style of hoops then their counterparts....

Now ! i'll grant you, that (IF)& whensome of the girls play against the guys (Per~say) in Summer leagues or A.A.U. camps.. It will definatley make those girls a much better player / team wise, when they go against other girls teams, come regular season time...

But, the guys don't get as much (except excersise) out of playing with the girls in those types of settings. Why :?: because we are talking two different levels of playing... Don't take this in a negative way

Up in Altoona during the summer time, the Altoona Lady's play in a summer league against the guys & get killed big-time..
They know it's coming, but they use it as a building block & they certainly learn more & get to use it down the road. That's why they play with the guys. It's a more savy environment...

I do know a few girls teams that probably {WOULD & COULD} beat some boys teams.. But as a whole, not many & they can't match up :o Heigth is a major factor for starters...

Some of the P.I.A.A. State Championship games that I've seen the last "20" years would demonstrate what I'm talking about... ( for Example):could you see Claysburg Kimmel Girls, playing Alliquippa boys in a game ?

Me neither....

chops i agree with you on some points but i don't think it is fair that you are lumping ALL girls teams together! I mean i am sure some girls teams may not be able to stand up to it but some can! Don't get me wrong the boys team can do good if they couldn't then they wouldn't be doing so well right now! but i just think you should give girls a chance before you say games are too slow because if you haven't watched every single girls team play then you shouldn't criticise them! And girls can do anything that boys can do against boys as well!

The MBg - FM game was 27-26, hardly a game any of us are disappointed we missed. Maybe I should have driven past Tussey to McBg. Six point quarters and probably not from strong defense. Probably 40 turnovers or more. PSU, it's time to quit talking so much.

On a side note, I was very impressed with both of Tussey's games this weekend. What a pleassure to watch how Coach Bailey has his teams prepared night in and night out.
