shhhhhhh Central is on the rise can't you tell by their record? They would not beat anyone in the ICC either, sorry team is a sorry team regardless of the conference you play in! District 5 should only have their top 4 teams play in the playoffs not 6 because they don't have 6 quality teams year in and year out!

?????????????
Re: District 5A....pathetic
no need for all the question marks....because....
Read the other posts, having only 4 teams would mean 4 teams get a bye because of the number of weeks in the season. Having 4 bye weeks wouldn't be good. Or the champ could sit for a while waiting for everyone else to finish up which also stinks. The extra week has weakened the first round, but 3-6 and 4-5 games can be nice. Last year, 6 beat 3 as North Star knocked off Windber in the first round! Also, I think CT was the 5 seed and they beat the 4 seed in Rockwood.
There isn't much to talk about...the way the weeks ended up being set up by the PIAA meant that the best solution for District 5 is to have 6 teams play. It makes a lot more money and it helps fit things together with the system.

D5 is poor and should never have 6 teams in the playoffs, Period that is why there are all the ??? marks! A team with a losing record in the playoffs, Tussey couldn't beat my left toe and it should be an accomplishment to make the playoffs not a gift!
Re: District 5A....pathetic
Nothing you can do about it as said...
The schedule doesn't work.

How would you set up the playoffs then Holly????
How do you feel about open tournaments in basketball??? Is that pathetic too?? What would you do about the WPIAL having numerous teams with losing records in the playoffs....I guess they are even more horrible than District 5 by your thinking?? Hey nobody complained last year when the lower seeded teams had better records, these things will happen, look at Johnstown with a losing record in 6-AAA playoffs coming off of a pounding by a AA school.
Also keep in mind when sharing your plan that you need to pay for all those Cross Country, Tennis and Golf medals that D5 gives out each year in non-revenue sports and that Volleyball and Soccer 'barely' make ends meat.

D5 A should only have 4 teams make the playoffs that is my playoff system! I would also like to see D5 play another district besides D7 after district play. I think that would make some good match-ups! D5 has no chance in he$$ vs a D7 A Champ!
