Solomen Torres has given up runs in at least 2 close ball games this year and it cost the bucco's both games he may be a bigger bum than Ryan Vogelson (good point though).

Jack Wilson is going to have a monster year. He looks good and a lot stronger. I wouldnt doubt it if he dont hit 30 homers this year. And does anyone know why casey hasnt played the last 2 nights?

And then get traded or leave via free agency, hence the story of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Salary cap now!

What a performance by the Bucs tonight. Yet again the starting pitcher struggles a bit, but the bats came to play-- 4 homers and a Seth Duffy triple. The Bucs are now tied with the Reds for most homers in the NL. The Wilsons, Craig and Jack, have been on tears lately. Craig has 3 homers in his last 2 while starting in place of Sean Casey and Jack has been off to a hott start, much unlike his start from last yr. The Bucs might still only have 3 wins, but this season looks like it could still be salvaged.

They've won 3 outta their last 4. Don't just throw up the 2 in a row...

"season looks like it still could be salvaged"

lol, most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. The season is 162 games long and they're only at the very beginning of the season, it doesn't take much to salvage a season that's that long within the first couple weeks of play.

At first that might sound like a ridiculous statement but think about it a little more and it's really not. The Bucs 0-6 start got the fans talking again, and they weren't talking about the early season positives. Thoughts like "this again?" ,"I thought they'd at least be decent this time" and "next year is THE year, now" have almost definitely run through every Pirates fan's head over the past two weeks. So, only 8,9, or 10 games into the season the outlook not only looked bleak on the field but the fanbase had already started to question this year's squad and lose interest. Getting these wins, albeit only 2 of them in a row, will surely get the fans interested thus helping to salvage this season.
An 0-anything start is really tough for a team of young players to come back from. Had the Bucs continued to slide, the season would have been unsalvageable because of lack of confidence and a lack of interest from the fans. These wins not only boost fan support, but they give this young team some much needed confidence.

did you miss the post i made that the last time they started a season 0-6 they made it to the NLCS? this isn't a big deal... we get 50 games into the season and they're 10-40, and we go on a 60-20 streak, that's salvaging a season, not winning three out of four games within the first couple weeks of a season.
