It is not easy being me koc!! :D

> ak47 2903.....it was Temple, Buffalo, Fla Int, ( I seriously think one service had them ranked 117, 118, 119) & ND!

And again this yr it would have been Ark St, Temple, Syracuse & Coastal Carolina ???? HAD TO ADD ONE REAL GAME

Pitt does play 2 Mac's (not TEMPLE & BUFFALO) & ND...you conveniently left out Iowa.....& Navy who was 8-4 & played in a bowl

I can't wait to see Navy roll up 500 yards of offense on Pitt's D again this year. That was a whole mess of fun last year.

This could all be solved if they just played each other again. That would make too much sense wouldn't it, Paterno?

They also got slaughtered by UCONN and Virginia last season.

I love how forgetful the Pitt fans are. This defense was so great last season. Did Pat White play in the WVU game where Pitt was supposedly the best defense in the universe?

By the time PSU plays Alabama, Alabama will be a national title contender.

As for Temple being one of the worst teams in the nation last season, they finished 4-8. One win less than Pitt. You guys need to lay off Temple for awhile and watch this experiment unfold. That temple team is only getting better. I remember when we all made fun of Rutgers, too.

Just remember who your coaches are, Pitt fans.

So just because some worthless preseason ranking had Buffalo and Temple ranked low that means that Penn State is doing all they can to play the weakest possible opponents in the nation. It does not matter these two teams had pretty decent years. Any schedule with Ohio State, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin on it does not need a who lot more added to it. Penn State out of 13 games had Notre Dame, Illinois, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, Indiana, Purdue, and Michigan State. 9 out of 13 are against quality opponents.

You worry about getting your Panthers to .500 and we will worry about what schedule we play, alright?

Seriously I will drop this topic after this post......uhhh maybe; based on the myopic nitters' responses. If your blue & white vision is so blurred & near sighted that you are okay (paying for tickets) & playing Temple, Youngstown, Coastal Car. every yr @ home, then so be it! "But we play Alabama in 2 yrs".....which is obviously a home & home so u will see one real team every other yr....And abbk asked for 10 tougher ooc schedules....I gave him 68 tougher schedules w/ your vaunted big 10 opponents included! Someone likes to criticize ND's schedule for taking the difficulty back a notch but when you have to pay a real school, @ the last minute, to replace Ark St so you were not the laughing stock of the entire country.... it is pretty weak!!

Look, since the 2000 season, Penn State is 32-32 against Big Ten competition( a conf. that has been slipping in stature & ratings for the last 5/6 yrs). That record includes a 5-16 mark against heavyweights Ohio State, Michigan and Wisconsin. Does anyone see any correlation between playing Temple, Youngstown, E Mich & Shade every Aug & Sept then getting L's every time you play a tough team ?????

As far as the Panthers.....Pitt would have been bowling last yr....unfortunately they lost their starting qb in first game & had no one ready to replace him....believe me Walt left the program in worse shape than most know.....when they beat WVU I wrote "if you remember Vman detailed for the last few yrs. the perils or lack of a D-Line aka Walt left the cupboard bare! For 3 consecutive yrs Pitt had no seniors @ D Tackle or Nose.....they've been lighter in the pants in that area than Joepa!! Now they still do not play any seniors in those down positions but they got bigger, tougher, deeper & quicker @ that position......and boy did it show last nite!!!!
They return every D Tackle & Nose tackle that played this yr. including the injured G Mustakas....their D is set for the next 2 yrs....now if they can master the forward pass....maybe bowling next year."

To answer TAE's question, yes Pat White did play in last year's Backyard Brawl. Some college football analysts like Pat Haden, like to say that White missed most of the game last year. When in fact, White missed something like 14 snaps in that game. WVU's only touchdown came with the back up quarterback under center.
