Yo Sarge! Not so fast my friend. The Jaysox opened their showcase schedule Saturday. Jose Texidor from State College looks like a big stick and Smithmyer from Altoona and Fees from Cambria Heights both were impressive on the mound. A couple of their other studs (Roberts from FH, Carbaugh from Richland and Bowser from NB) weren't with the team this weekend. They host their own showcase event Labor Day weekend at UPJ and Mount Aloysius. The schedule's at http://www.jaysox.com.

Well I was wishful-thinkin' about football season, I guess. I only follow those kids a little bit, because I know a few parents, and whatever little the Trib prints. How about Roberts lighting up the AAABA competition the first couple games? Way to go Boilers, too!
