OAR, you bring up a very interesting point. I think I would take LeBron because he is younger. That would be the only reason. After watching the Lakers play without Kobe in OT last night, they aren't even as good as the Bobcats. The team is completely lost when he's not out there. Pau Gasol can't lead a team. We saw that in Memphis. Andrew Bynum is as inconsistent of a player that you can find right now. The Lakers have a lot of good role players, but without Kobe they wouldn't even smell the playoffs.

Both Kobe and LeBron are ridiculously good and light years better than anyone else in the league. I would take LeBron now but only because of age. As for LeBron's teammates, the cupboard is not completely bare. Ben Wallace, former Defensive POY; Mo Williams, probable all-star reserve. However, neither he nor Kobe are in situations like Garnett and Pierce in Boston. I love the way people go on the Garnett bandwagon last year. If you put any of a number of NBA players in a starting line-up with Pierce, Allen, Rondo, and Perkins, they would win the championship. To name a few: Al Jefferson, Chris Bosh, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard (although he is much better than Garnett), Pau Gasol, Joe Johnson, etc.
