Re: Illinois vs. PSU
Didn't you bring up the Iowa vs. PSU game into the thread? Thought so.

Re: Illinois vs. PSU
It clinched a record 10 wins in the Big10 for PSU. The first time they've ever won that many games. And it was a last second shot vs. a team that they were the underdogs to.El-Moldo wrote:Was it the clincher?
But you're right. That's the only time this year fans have stormed the court after a game this year. Shame on the PSU fans.

Re: Illinois vs. PSU
I was on the floor with the whole lower bowl...Everyone just sort of pushed and made their way down there... It really helped solidify a spot in the dance with one more win. The Nits lost to Iowa (Grrrrr!!!!!), but I think they can solidify things with a win over Indiana and a good showing versus Purdue in the B10 tournament. The win also had PSU set up to grab the 2 seed in the BTT if they would have been able to beat Iowa.
2 wins over Illini
1 over Minny
1 over Geo Tech
1 over Mich State
1 over Purdue
1 over Mich
That second win over a top tier B10 team (Conference with the second best RPI right now even though PSU's is disgusting)....
Last home game for seniors, great atmosphere (7K students), just a release of sorts after being down that whole game with the big shot at the end to win it. It was just an awesome comeback, awesome last shot, everything was great.
Teams rush the floor all the time. It was better than rushing it as a team that is 8-20 winning their last game of the year against a top 10. It was what it was man...

Re: Illinois vs. PSU
Coach, you mean like Texas Tech did the other night when they beat Kansas? I couldn't believe it. I guess some people celebrate 10 win seasons.

Re: Illinois vs. PSU
deliverance: PLEASE check your facts. philip's dad was the 1st one under this topic to mention Iowa when he mentioned PSU "stubbing their toe against Iowa". Then YOU followed up with "PSU has a chance to move into the top 25 with a win over Iowa". That opened the door for me to comment on Iowa. And again, how desparate are the PSU fans for a win when they storm the court after a regular season game? At least Texas Tech's win was an upset. PSU had beaten Illinois at their court earlier in the year. What was so big about a home win against them? I seriously think it was a TV thing.

Re: Illinois vs. PSU
Why would you respond to it if it's so wrong to change the subject in a thread? I thought with every thread on this board that if PSU was mentioned that Pitt could be mentioned, too. I would check with you before I posted anything on here, but then again you don't run the board.

Re: Illinois vs. PSU
Look. The topic was basically about PSU basketball. Why would you bring up Pitt? They don't play each other. Not in the same conference. Why mention them? The Iowa comments were a perfect segue from the illinois topic. At least the Illinois game had a connection to the upcoming Iowa game. The transition from Illinois to Iowa was understandable.

Re: Illinois vs. PSU
Why do you only post negative things about PSU? Like that brings a lot to the board. If you want to sit here and analyze all of my posts, expect me to do the same to you. Not a problem. It will be fun.

I have to say thank you to me ..." for not being stupid enough to go to Penn State."
Re: Illinois vs. PSU
As far as storming the court after a game, there are probably 3 reasons to do this:
1) Your team just won their conference championship.
2) Your team, as a heavy underdog, just beat a team in the top 3 in the nation.
3) Your team just beat their hated rival.
Storming the court after beating a team you just beat 2 weeks ago, a team you were favored to beat in the first place, does not fit the situation. It's just a bunch of fluff for TV.
