Re: Please tell me not again
I haven't seen alot of games but based on what I have seen (single A) this is my top two at this point:PipersPit wrote:I need to know...
Who is the best girls basketball team in the area?
Can u rank them in the top 5?
Williamsburg: Excellent ballhandlers and outside shooters. They also are terrific on defense!
Northern Cambria: All around good athletes at every position, both sides of the ball.

Excellent list!
I forgot about Conemaugh Valley, very nice team. Also, Ligonier girls' starting 5 are very talented.

What is happening at Ferndale School District is unreal. It's not only happening at the High School level, but trickling down into the lower grades as well. Stila jacket mentioned the playoff game for the girls last year, I aslo attended that game and saw the coaching from the stands, unbelievable. And now, to change coaches in mid season for the simple reason the players and parents wanted a change, is just not right.
Re: Please tell me not again
What I heard last night was The coach of Ferndale during a game saw 3 players looking up in the stands listening to their parents and not him. He called a TO and told them I'm the coach you listen to me out here if it happens again u girls who r doing it will be benched. Couple minutes later hes calling a play again the same 3 girls r again listening to there parents. The 3 were benched the rest of the game. After the game the girls and the parents came to this coach and said their going to the school board, a couple days later the coach was sick of it all and resigned.

Re: Please tell me not again
Why then doesn't this parent step forward and actually coach the team. I mean, if they have influence with the Board to over rule the coach surely they would have support to coach the team.
I don't know the players (adults) involved but it would be interesting to see how well these "bleachercoaches" would do.
By the way, if any of those parents are on this site reading this post, plese pay special attention to my signature line......................
Stilajacket...help us out here. you seem to know the details well.

Re: Please tell me not again
Muddle - I am with you all the way. Parents sit in the bleachers at games and just look for every little complaint they can find. They all have these great coaching strategies they would have used to lead the team to a victory. They have no idea the time put in by these coaches. What coach wants to lose?
Most think there son/daughter is great and if it doesn't go the parents way then the coach is a horses rear end and should be fired. Most will never go to another game once there child graduates nor were they at before there child played.

Parents are the worst fans! Also people are so opinionated it is ridiculous, just listen to us on this site! You wonder which Coach will be next to take the heat.

Well, whatever coaching strategy Ferndale is using, it's not working very well. I believe they are 0 - 3 since the switch.
