Penn State is awful.
How many years in a row have we seen QBs play like this?
If McGloin is the best we can do, we need to be playing Lehigh and Juniata.
Bolden is not much better.
Again... when a certain position, over a lineage of players, all perform at a below-average level, when does the light click on that something isn't right w/ how we are developing them?
But Jay keeps pounding out those political blogs.
"I dont understand why you are mad, AE, we only lost by 16 points."

Re: Penn State is awful.
Penn State would beat Pitt soundly.
PSU 8-4 at best, 7-5 likely.
Pitt 7-5 at best, looking like a 5-7, 6-6 season.
I'm afraid to watch us play Iowa on Saturday, its going to be UGLY.

Iowa lost in triple overtime today, to THEIR traditional rival. It's hard to get up for a game two weeks in a row. Iowa is in trouble next week.

Re: Penn State is awful.
Penn State really is pathetic. Not one thing has changed since the early 90's with this team. Sure they have 11 win seasons, but that is always when they play 4 OOC cupcakes and the schedule works out perfect. They have not once in these past 15+ years went out and took wins from teams.
It seriously is like groundhog day every big game this team plays. The 2 QB system is detremental to this team. Their is no doubt in my mind. I am not saying either of the qb's is good, but neither is able to find their grove in a game. Bolden did not start out terrible. He had a good first drive, the second was average, then boom mcloin is in the game, he does nothing, then it's back to bolden. The Offense is pathetic and this is just one of the reasons. The recievers don't catch the ball. Devon Smith is a waste of 150lbs. I do really like Silas Redd tho.
As for the main problem with Penn State, it's coaching. It's been coaching for years. They are such a predictable team that I can tell what is coming just by seeing the way they line up. It's obvious if they throw an incomplete pass on first down, a run up the middle is coming on second down, leading to third and 9. The defense very rarely takes chances in big games, no blitzes, but they play bend but don't break, and leave the middle of the field wide open.
My favorite part of todays game. Down 20-3 with about 8 minutes left and it taking a christmas miracle for Penn State to even get a sniff of Alabama Territory, they PUNT on 4th and 6 from about alabama's 41. Tell me where i have seen this before? Oh wait it was last year.
Going into this game, this is about what i expected. Total domination by Alabama. It's time for a change at PSU, but it won't happen until Joe is good and ready. Pathetic.
As for Pitt beating Iowa, I am not sure. I haven't seen them this year, but from the sounds of it their oline is not good and the defense seems weak. I'll be pretty surprised if they go into Kinnick and win, but who knows how Iowa responds.

Re: Penn State is awful.
What I wanna know is how does someone with higher admission standards like Northwestern get 3 qbs better than anyone psu has had for years?

They probably have someone who can coach them and make them better. I always thought playing a kid early would get him experience and make him better. At Penn State they get worse.

Re: Penn State is awful.
McGloin has no business being on the field. With Bolden in there today they put up 11 points even though the TD was on their back ups but he also moved the ball decently and if not for a costly holding penalty, turnovers, and some dropped balls by receivers Bolden could have kept the Nits within 7-10 points. Everyone sitting in my section today agreed McGloin is flat out awful, but hey he has moxy! Also, Joe needs to go. Until he does they won't get the big recruits they need to get back to the 10-11 win team they were just 2 years ago.
