Pac 12 is remaining the Pac 12

Well we'll see, but for now they are. And I think the lower revenue teams of the league were likely the most vocal in this. Colorado just got away from these guys, Texas enters the league and nothing changes for them. I bet lower revenue teams don't want Texas calling the shots for them. Good for them


So what do you have now? This changes everyday it feels like.

Pac 12 is at 12. Sounds like they will be there for a while

Big Ten is at 12. They don't seem to be expanding anytime soon, only team they would absolutely expand for is Notre Dame, obviously.

ACC is at 14, and my thought is they are going to wait out Notre Dame as well, and I seriously think they are going to pitch to Penn
State very hard. If the ACC adds PSU and ND in this expansion, they become a dominant league. UConn is acting like a girl asking a guy to the prom at this point, they really, really want in the ACC. But I think the ACC is holding out hope for some much prettier girls.


SEC is at 13, who will be 14? Missouri looks the most likely. People are saying WVU was turned down, others said they haven't even applied there yet. My thing is this, WVU adds next to nothing to the league. They really don't. It's a small state and they add no market. They are third fiddle in the Pittsburgh market behind Pitt and PSU. I mean they fit the SEC in a sense because they are a great football program, they travel well, and they sell out home games. I bet if they were to move, they would expand their stadium to 70,000 and I think they would have no trouble filling it up. But again, the SEC doesn't need them. Missouri brings in a bigger state with the St. Louis and even Kansas City markets. Strong Football team, fit in geographically with some SEC West teams as well. This is the one league that is absolutely going to expand in the very near future, just to get to 14.


The Big 12 has 9. Might lose Mizzou. They still have Texas and Oklahoma, and good secondary programs with OK State and Texas Tech. My guess is they go out and add some teams? BYU? Houston? SMU really wants in, doubt it is mutual. Tulsa isn't bad. Maybe try and pry away TCU from the Big East? Who knows, but they will get to 12 IF Texas and OU are staying, and that looks more and more likely.

And the laugher in this whole thing, the Big East. Here are the teams, with their potential destinations and the destinations they wish to get. Rutgers(BigTen/ACC) UConn (ACC) WVU (SEC) USF, Cincinnati Louisville and TCU(WHOEVER WILL TAKE THEM) And thats about it. Simply put, these guys SHOULD just team up with the 8 remaining Big 12 teams, ditch the BBall schools and become a halfway decent 14 team league. That would be my recommendation. Who knows? These 6 teams just start something if nothing works out for any of them. They were on the verge of adding Navy and Air Force in the very near future before the Pitt departure(thank God). No seriously, that was Marinatto's master plan. He looks stupider each day. So who knows, maybe those 2 still come on board. Football only, of course. That gives you 8. You need 12 at this point and they know it. There are some teams that will jump at any sort of offer the Big East throws their way. ECU(applied to BE today) Nova(probably stood outside the door of the BE meeting tonight) Memphis will buck up and do what they can. UCF has been trying for a few years now. Temple may want another shot at this. I'm sure a few other C-USA teams would be willing. Those 7 Football teams that are left will stick with the 8 Basketball schools, too. BAD IDEA. They need to learn when half the conference has a different agenda than you, you should not be on board with them.




I have no idea what will happen. I find it interesting, and annoying at the same time. It seriously is taking away from the season.
The NCAA has power to suspend Boise State for letting players let recruits sleep on their floor, but they do not have the power to tell conference commissioners and university presidents to shut up during the season. Its beyond me.

West Virginia and Cincinnati are really in tough spots right now. They just do not bring anything worthwhile to the Big Ten, and no one else wants them.

I'm really surprised the SEC (or even the ACC) have no interest in Louisville. I don't understand what Missouri brings to you, to be honest.

Yahoo article today brought up a great point about the declining population of the midwest and how much that affects ND if they join a conference.

I will say this... it is infinitely interesting. I'm wholeheartedly hate this, but it IS interesting. I would be curious to see a conference w/ WVU, Louis, Cincy, KState, ISU, TCU. That just doesn't fit for me at all, but who am I to judge.

Missouri is better academically(Not that the SEC cares) and again the state of Missouri is bigger than WV. West Virginia has no cities, Missouri does. Missouri brings more to the SEC than WVU. Thats why I see that happening.

Andy Katz pointed out the Big 12 may be at 8 with Mizzou and A&M leaving. BYU is their top target. They need 3 more, and Louisville and WVU were mentioned. Pitt was going to be their other top target with BYU.


I read the article on Yahoo, he brings good points. ND doesn't get the best of the best anymore, they recruit very well,but Alabama and Florida can get better players nationally these days. But he does bring up that ND will still have a presence in the Midwest if they do chose the ACC over the Big Ten and Independence.


The Big 12 teams will never leave at this point, I think just for stability purposes the 7 Big East teams left, and the soon to be 8 Big 12 teams should merge. Add BYU and be the first 16 team Super League. Its a lot better for the Big East teams than adding Navy and Air Force. Thats a terrible, awful idea.

That is awful. That is some of the worst matchups I have ever seen. There is NO ONE who wants to see Louisville play Texas Tech in Lubbock, or see Baylor run on the field in Morgantown. Plus, I highly doubt Texas is okay w/ TCU being in that conference. I can't wait to see Big Easelve powerhouse Coastal Carolina go up against Texas for the conference championship.

SEC: Missouri (I'm baffled), and Texas A&M.

Pac 12: "We are not going to expand... until everyone else does, then we are going to blow this thing up again."

ACC: I honestly could not care any less about ACC football. I have no inclinations to ever watch Boston College and Wake Forest, or Pitt and Duke.

Army has no aspirations to play in a league, but Navy and Air Forde do. Thats a dumb mistake, Navy and AFA can compete now, but in 10 years, they could go back to an Army like draught.


But the league is going to suck, but I don't know how things are going shake up.

These new conferences all have awful games.

In a given week you can see Indiana at Nebraska, Washington State at Colorado, Duke at Syracuse, Iowa State at BYU, Air Force at Louisville.
