To answer that Clairton-North Star question, I recall they played in snowstorm. He had 2 catches for 30 yards.

But like EA said, you are recruited by physical attributes these days. And Straiser has those attributes you are looking for. He's pretty fast, he's tall, and he can jump. He is a pretty good receiver hands wise, don't know his route running skills, but colleges won't care.

Dwight Andrews isn't the best receiver in the world, but he can catch the ball and make plays. But being 6-5 and athletic sure didn't hurt him getting an offer.

Is Patton going anywhere? He's got the speed for sure, but I haven't heard anything about him. Maybe I missed it.

What did Tony Strasiser do against Clairton last year? As nignog mentioned, the WestPAC is far from top quality competition. He may be able to dominate on that level but I'm wondering how he is against better opponents that are able to keep up with him.
when you have a line that is only giving your qb 2 sec or less to throw, not even the best of receivers can get up to speed and make a move to get open.. judging on the merits of that game isnt quit fair.. had he been on the clairton side of the ball i would bet he would have had 4 or 5 tds...higher you go in playoffs the more a teams weakness's are pointed out.. and they could not block clairtons def. linemen at all.. a few passes here and there but in general line was dominated by clairton as most wpial teams do to d5. he has good speed, makes great moves, and can get up to pull the ball down.. he is still a junior, you are judging him in a game that he was a SOPHMORE.

That help proves my point even further, most schools' take the "skill and ability" factor completely out when considering recruits. Outside the top 150 nationally, they only care about size and speed...the 2 things they can't control. There was a kid from ECP a few years ago that could barely push 185# OFF HIS CHEST on the bench but was 6'5 315, he had offers from 16 of the AP top 20 schools, this kid played in the east/west game in Altoona, Tyrone had 5 kids in that game, 2 linemen, both of which knocked that kid around like a 7th grader that stole something out of their locker. It really sucks how colleges recruit but hey, that's why there's always a couple PSAC schools ranked nationally, these guys are getting some real quality kids from central PA.

What about Rusty Miller from N.S. Big kid with great hands and a decent blocker.

most teams are concentrating on straisser and zboronchek. every so often he releases free and has wide open catches, ok blocker but nowhere near an impact player as straisser.

tyler scott has the best hands i ever seen in my life with great speed and height around 6'1 6'2 i could easily see him playing d 1 ball if he applied himself. he plays tight end now but i think he could make a great transition to a slot recevier
