A baseball thread?!

So we saw 'Moneyball' on Sunday, I liked it a lot. It sparked my interest in baseball again, slightly.

So what's the deal? Who is going to win this World Series? I saw today that Francona was fired in Boston, that seems to me to be pretty idiotic, the dude won a championship after they hadn't won one in like 400 years.

It's so hard to root for a sport when you don't have a horse in the race. I have tried so many countless times to support the Pirates, I almost even went to see them play at Dodger Stadium, but I couldn't pull the trigger. At some point it is just blind allegiance, and I'm too objective of a person to fall for that stuff for very long. I can't root for the Pirates.

I hate to say it, but that team is going to have to make the playoffs and show me a blueprint to success for me to want to jump on board.

Yahoo says the Phillies are the team this year. What do you guys think?

The Phillies have the best pitching staff remaining. The Yankees more than likely have the best offense left along with the Rangers. The Tigers have the best starting pitcher in baseball. All of that adds up to me not having a clue who will win it all. I can tell you this, though, I'll be shocked to see Arizona, St. Louis, or Tampa Bay win it.
