I can't either. If two teams want to play then so be it.

Wait...so, they didn't already decide who the LHAC champion is before this game is even played? This game counts for playoffs, but doesn't count for the LHAC champion...my thinking is correct I hope...haven't looked at the detailsManfred wrote:If you think any FH vs Johnstown game is DULLED DOWN, you've never been to one and are also an uninformed knucklehead. Re: What are these teams thinking about?
The players may not think of it as dulled down but there definitely is less meaning. Other than bragging rights this game has no impact on Jtwn's playoff picture. If you want to try and make a run in the state tourney, at what point does Jtwn take out some starters?Athens/Cat wrote:Wait...so, they didn't already decide who the LHAC champion is before this game is even played? I in no way think Jtwn can win a state title, but, and it's a big but, they have probably the easiest route to the final 8. (You can say the same thing about Clearfield.) First Jtwn plays Clearfield. Winner plays D4 whose top team has 4 losses. That would take either to final 8. If Jtw/Clearfield wins that game they would play winner of D11/2. No Allentown Central Catholic this year so who knows.
I know this game has playoff implications for FH, but every Jtwn hater sure did make a point how the game didn't matter last year after they won.
So I ask the bleachercoaches on here, what do you do? Do you play it like it's a playoff game or do you lift some of the starters?

Re: What are these teams thinking about?
I play it like I am playing one of my biggest rivals with something at stake.
Johnstown is going to have to sit for a week and for the most part they have been relatively unchallenged all year long. This is going to be one of their few tests on the season. Me personally, If I am going to play Clearfield, I want a good game under my belt. I am not helping my team by calling off the dogs in one of my biggest games of the season.
Johnstown has yet to play a AAA team yet this season, and when they play Clearfield it will be for the first time. What happens if Johnstown loses that game, and they lose the Forest Hills game too?
They don't win a playoff game because they aren't tested, and they don't win one of their biggest rivalry games because they took the starters out.
That would just be an awful way for the season to end.
Thats just my argument. Opening it up for another argument, you could make a case either way.

Re: What are these teams thinking about?
BC loses to Williamsburg 15-6
Today BC and the Husky faithful weep while their bigger brothers in the LHAC given them a stern glare.
Not exactly helping the LHAC's rep as a great conference. I'm usually a big believer in LHAC as a great competitive conference but that game really makes me wonder if it really is the LHACK. Just awful.
Congrats to the pirates though. They obviously played hard and deserve all the credit in the world

Re: What are these teams thinking about?
So you're gonna judge the LHAC by one extra game that was played after the season was over? I know, why don't we judge Big Ten Conference football by using Indiana as an example. They are 1-8, losing to the likes of Ball State and North Texas. Based on IU, guess the entire Big Ten Conference must stink.
Re: What are these teams thinking about?
Never would have thought it, great job Blue Pirates!! Regardless it does put a dent in the LHAC armor, no matter how you slice it.
Re: What are these teams thinking about?
I know i'm coming in this post late and what i'm about to say doesn't make it right or wrong. But, other LHAC teams have done this in the past (I.E. - Cambria Heights, Richland) and it was all about just giving the boys the chance to play one more time being they did not make the playoffs.
