I really have no words. It is like he is clueless to the world around him. It is a sad scene to see kids making him out to be a hero chanting his name on the street. I can't even think of one thing that could come out that would make me defend him. Just sad.

Re: Embarrassing
How do you have all of this happening and the first thing you say is "I am so proud of you we will always be Penn State. Let's beat Nebraska" Then he goes to close the window and you see someone tap him on the shoulder reminding him to say something about the kids which he totally F's up. Unbelievable.

Re: Embarrassing
Its getting really weird, but thats what you will have if you have a coach that has overstayed his welcome.
Re: Embarrassing
From the standpoint that I understand in this matter, which is very, very little people seem frustrated that this is becoming a Joe Paterno issue solely and he is being used a the scapegoat for an entire adminstration of failure.

Re: Embarrassing
I watched the video. It's actually one of the most pathetic things I have ever seen, and another exhibit and proof positive that PSU is a cult and Paterno is the cult leader.
What will be really a disaster is if the rumored press conference will be held tomorrow, which is to be scheduled by Paterno and his son (who looks and sounds like an absolute boob.) By Paterno holding his own presser, he is again demonstrating that he's above the university. Are you kidding me? Have you seen any of Paterno's pressers lately? He will make an absolute fool of himself. It will be a disaster.
Again, these things happen when one man becomes bigger than the entire organization. PSU is reaping what they have sowed. I have seen this type of ending coming, but never imagined it would be this tragic, horrific, and disgraceful. It is truly beyond comprehension.
The real trageedy in all of this is that the welfare and safety of children has been trumped by the arrogance of an administration and a football coach who truly believed that they were above the law. The importance and image of Paterno and the PSU brand name was more important than doing the right thing.
The Grand Experiment, Success with Honor, 'The Penn State Way", not leaving college football to the Switzers and Sherrills of the world...ALL BOLD FACED MYTHOLOGY AND FLAT OUT LIES.
What will Paterno's next book be about? PSU may need to sell the book and movie rights to this tragedy in odered to pay the 9 digit bill from the residual civil suits from victims.
Read this editorial...It captures things quite well.
