Sounded like a great game in Bellwood last night. Congrats to the Blue Devils. 11-10. Didn't see that coming.

How was the officiating? In a close game like that I'm surprised now one has mentioned the zebras.

I am sure the Bishop McRecruit crybabies will have something to say!

My lone complaint with the officials were they let things get out of control a few times, lots of personal fouls but all were earned, and they were late with the whistle sometimes. All in all good officiated game. And paleride, its spelled McCort not McRecruit.

Well each team had 7 penalties, so if they were bad...it ended up even in the end. It seemed like McCort had some real costly penalties, and Bellwood took advantage when they could. Hats off to them.

Usually when Johnstown teams play in Altoona the officiating is a bit questionable, and its the same when Altoona teams come to Johnstown. I don't know why that is, but its true. But all in all seemed like there wasn't an issue with the officiating. I wasn't at the game, I'm basing that off of the reports I've read and heard. Either way it was a 1 point game, each team had a fair share to win that game.

Crimson you hit the nail on the head, McCort's penalties were a lot more costly then Bellwood's. The offsides and roughing the kicker that caused the score to be 8-7 Bellwood instead of 7-6 McCort. And Belskey's 15 yarder that got him tossed hurt too. The drive prior to that he had a couple of good runs for the tough yards to help get McCort in position to hit a FG to go up 10-8.

Quote from today's Tribune by Kevin Sheridan: "We made a couple of SELFISH mistakes that really hurt us and I take the blame for that because that shouldn't be going on, on a football team that's meant to be together". What the heck was that supposed to mean? Internal discord?
