If the bus is a rockin'n, don't come a knockin'.

Irregardless of STEP and poor scheduling, I thought the place to be on Saturday's in the fall was Beaver Stadium. Has it lost it's luster?

I'm not sure that it's lost it's luster, but a lot of Penn State fans found out that if you drive another 2 hours up the road you can go to Kennywood, the Carnegie Science Center, or have a Steak Sandwich with French fries on it. This has led to an attendance drop. Within 2 years, Beaver Stadium will look like Heniz Field 1/3 full.

Way to avoid the question. Typical, when you have no answer.

Avoid the question? I answered it. What kind of answer are you looking for? The prices for tickets were raised when the economy has basically collapsed. On top of that, a scandal happens and a coach was fired and died who was coaching what some fans thought was called Paterno State University. I'm sure that group of fans has decided to use their money on trips to Kennywood, Blands park, Lakemont, and trips to the railroad museum while they listen to the game on their walkmans or they will watch the Penn State games on Tv like Pitt fans do.
It will be years before Penn State sells out Beaver Stadium on a regular basis unless Sheetz starts giving out free tickets with the purchase of an MTO.

Re: The Magic Bus
Its hard to find 110,000 people in driving distance to State College that are willing to part with nearly $2000 for 7 Saturdays in the fall with only 3 games or so really being worth attending. Too expensive...

Re: The Magic Bus
Are other schools with giant stadiums having this problem? Is Michigan,Tennesse, Ohio State ect ect not selling out either? serious question.
Re: The Magic Bus
I really feel Penn State wouldn't have this problem if they wouldn't have got greedy and added the step program. Its going to have a huge long term effect on ticket sales, IMO. They lost the ability to get recent alums (5 years or less) to really have much of an opportunity to be a ticket holder. I know many, many of my friends that graduated in the past few years that would love to have tickets but don't have $2000 to drop on top of student loans and the many other new expenses (car payments, rent, house keeping). They are going to lose that business down the line when grads don't have the tradition of getting season tickets at graduation and keeping that seat for 50 years. Step is a joke. I heard last year tailgating several times people saying they were getting Pitt tickets this year instead. Same level of D-1 college football at like a quarter of price.
