I think Fera is gone today to Texas.

All the kids who left, minus Redd, are all kids who were already on the fence at Penn State and grumbling. In positive news, Brian Gaia said he was leaving, and chose to come back. James Terry also reaffirmed he is coming back.

The real test will be, what happens with the team this season. Players have until August 2013 to take advantage of the "play right away after a transfer", when the offer ends. If things don't go right this year, look for more players to bail out after the season ends. AND commits for 2013 have until LOI day in February to think about their situation. Plenty of time to decide.

The queston for psu could become: if enough scholarship players defect, will psu even be able to safely field a legitimate team 2014-2017?

Listen. If you recall correctly, Pollard had academic concerns and almost did not even get accepted. He also committed to Penn State when there wasn't even a coaching staff in place. I personally think that these OL defections (Nowicki and Pollard) are potential blessings in disguise. You have understand the severe differences in coaching styles between Dick Anderson and Mac McWhorter. McWorther is probably the most decorated OL coach in all of college football, the guy has high standards. When you have kids who committed to Anderson, a guy who in all honesty was nowhere near as effective as he was 20 years ago and was collecting a paycheck, and then they are faced w/ McWhorter, that is a very big difference. He called those linemen out at least once for being soft, months ago. Add in that we now have a REAL strength coach. I really am not at all worried about Pollard and Nowicki.

I think PSU should be concerned about any player leaving. Even if they do have some academic issues, I believe depth is going to be a big problem in the next few years.

I look at it this way. PSU is down to 79-80 scholarship players. Injuries happen, it is inevitable. PSU could be down to 70-72 scholarship players on some weeks this season. I think it will show.

According to Cory Giger.

Order of biggest losses.
1. Redd
2. Fera
3. Fortt
4. Bolden
5. Haplea
6. Pollard
7. Buckley.

Also said if Justin Brown leaves, he is #2. He has an Oklahoma offer. Also Ryan Nowicki left after he made that list.
