Re: MY D6 Rankings
With games left to be played, I'd take Berlin over Northern Cambria. I'll also say Portage wins at least one if not both against Blairsville and Homer Center. I won't be picking Windber against Ligonier this week in the contest but before this past Friday night that game was a toss-up for me. An injury to a Windber player is enough for me to give the nod to Ligonier Valley even though one player shouldn't make a difference. Hopefully it doesn't.konjo78 wrote:4 teams westpac has played out of heritage.
1. United 0-4
2. Penns Manor 3-1
3. Saltsburg 0-4
4. Purchase Line 0-4
The only team you played that hasn't been getting run over in the heritage is Penns Manor and they crushed CV 53-6. I honestly think you have won your three games in this series. I think the rest of this series will go to Heritage as the WestPac will stop playing the bottom stompers of the heritage into their other elite teams.
Anyway, I think Berlin would beat anyone in the Heritage. I said anyone. I could be wrong though...

Re: MY D6 Rankings
We will see. I think Penns Manor could beat anyone in d6 or d5. Especially after they seemed to be awakened after NC loss. That loss may have been best thing for that team this year. They will play some actual competition here soon in BV and especially LV but i see them going undefeated the rest of the year.

Re: MY D6 Rankings
This may be an ignorant question and I must be missing something in the scheduling but does Portage only have 8 WestPac games scheduled. I thought everyone was to play 9 games within the WestPac. I only questioned this after you posted that the Mustanges play 2 games against Heritage league teams.[/quote]
It's not an ignorant question sir, for whatever reason Portage only plays 8 WestPac games this season. The Mustangs play eight straight conference games then end the season with Blairsville at home in Week 9 and @Homer Center in Week 10. The only two WestPac teams we don't play are Conemaugh Valley and Ferndale. Not sure how this/was determined lol

Re: MY D6 Rankings
Keep in mind there are only 3 (sometimes 2) ICC teams in 5A. The ICC is primarily a D6 conference. Saying the ICC is bad because they haven't won a 5A title is like saying the Westpac is bad because they haven't won a 6A title. When is the last time a Westpac school won 6A?12HankQB wrote:I'm with Ramblinman on this one, records have shown thus far. Should be interesting to see how the rest play out. Also the last time any of the ICC teams from District 5 won the district title was Northern Bedford in 1998. They have been knocked out year in and year out by the WestPac
Re: MY D6 Rankings
I have to say I'm a bit surprised to see how well the west PAC has been doing vs the heritage. I'll take lig over windber, best lineman or not, and Berlin over nc.

Re: MY D6 Rankings
Well the WestPac only has 4 D6 teams(Portage,Blacklick Valley, Conemaugh Valley, Ferndale) and no offense to the other 3 schools but basically Portage is the only school that realistically has a chance to compete year in and year out for a D6 Championship out of those. And in the recent years Portage has fairly easily taken care of all of their ICC opponents in the playoffs (Juniata Valley, Mount Union, Claysburg-Kimmel), except Bellwood-Antis of course lolS Cube wrote: Keep in mind there are only 3 (sometimes 2) ICC teams in 5A. Re: MY D6 Rankings
Honestly I look at how these Westpac teams played against other. North Star only 40-7 over a saltsburg team that gained 11 total yards against PM? Blacklick hung with PL for win but lignonier destroyed PL. United's closest game has been the one against the WestPac... if you are impressed by beating 3 winless teams then be my guess... thats like ligonier being impressed by winning against A schools.

Re: MY D6 Rankings
As well as the Heritage (Purchase Line, Marion Center, United). So I think it's kind of laughable to say the Westpac as a whole is any worse than either of those two conferences.GreenMachine wrote:Well the WestPac only has 4 D6 teams(Portage,Blacklick Valley, Conemaugh Valley, Ferndale) and no offense to the other 3 schools but basically Portage is the only school that realistically has a chance to compete year in and year out for a D6 Championship out of those.
