Wait, why are they becoming a laughing stock? Because Tim Rigby said something?

I read what you posted, and did not see him call McCort a joke. Sour grapes from '08 still?

I don't disagree with getting more points for beating higher class teams I'm just saying if a AA teams misses at 6-4 I don't think many people will be sad about it, that's all. Anyone who thinks it's right for privates schools to play A is an idiot. No they haven't won state title, over 90% of the schools are public schools, but how many D6-A titles have they won in the last 15 years? And that's only between 2 teams. I'm not even hating on the school, they've had some great teams but they shouldn't be playing inferior competition in the playoffs.

Here in the WPIAL we got Canevin, North Catholic, Serra, Geibel, Imani Christian, OLSH and none of them have been mistaken for Clairton or Rochester. Serra won in 07 but no one complained about them. I see nothing wrong w/ our Public Schools facing Private schools in the playoffs. Perhaps Portage should step its game up rather than complain about competing against Private Schools. As a Clairton guy I welcome the challenge of seeing another team that could be better than Clairton. Perhaps y'all should too.StraightOuttaPortage wrote:I don't disagree with getting more points for beating higher class teams I'm just saying if a AA teams misses at 6-4 I don't think many people will be sad about it, that's all. I can relate because people say the same things about Clairton.jack daniel wrote:I like this animus fella.

In football the difference between public and privates are not as glaring as years past, or don't seem to be at least. Basketball is were the huge problem exists. Especially with the addition of the charter schools. There is one in Philly that gets kids from NJ to go there. They play in the PIAA playoffs.

Well animus, even though I've only had one experience with Clairton, I've got only good things to say. Their players and coaches I felt were very classy, also my freshmen year of college sat next to Deontae Howard in a class one of the nicest people I've ever met.
