Pitt has finally landed the hometown Offensive Linemen. He picked Pitt over Va Tech and Ohio State. He made his official visit this weekend, and did not wait too long to commit. He obviously was expected to go to Pitt all along. He did throw a curve by verbally committing to Penn State, but rescinded after the fact of the sanctions.

He visited with fellow WPIAL elite prospects, Robert Foster and Tyler Boyd.

Pitt is in need of offensive linemen, and he is a good "get" for Paul Chryst. Not bad for a guy without a personality. Pitt landed a four star linemen from Pittsburgh last season in Adam Bisnowaty. Still a long way to go for Pitt's OLine, but adding talent can't hurt.

It would be huge to add Foster and Boyd. Hoping it happens.

I just don't get how he is ranked like 184 on Rivals and he is top 30 on 24/7 and ESPN. I'll give Pitt credit for landing a top 30 caliber player. He seems like the real deal, and his offer sheet matches it.


I never had a problem with him picking PSU the first time. Do what you feel is best. I'd never begrudge a kid over picking a school.

I'm always suprised when a kid picks Pitt when other big time schools are after them i.e. Ohio State. It may improve now that they are in the ACC, but the atmosphere at games compared to other programs really lacks. Can't believe a kid can stand on the sidelines at a packed Ohio State or Virginia Tech then stand at a half empty Heinz field and think it's where he should be.

The only reason a kid the caliber of Johnson would even consider Pitt is because it's 'home'. Who doesn't want to be the hometown kid that brings the local university back to prominence? A lot of kids will consider their hometown school for that reason. Hopefully Foster and Boyd jump on board!

DJohnson=clearly not Penn State material, they didn't want him anyway, his academics aren't good enough just like Shady McCoy's weren't, Pitt has too many empty seats, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

It just shows atmosphere isn't everything with recruiting.

Pitt is a good school, with a unique campus, and they have top notch facilities. Also, good coaches, and a school known to pump out NFL talent.

I think he said hope he does good Wpial? And ESPN rankings are always way off I read on internet to go with Rivals so I go with them for football basketball anything over ESPN rankings either way still good get

I mean its all political with these rankings.

Rivals ranks the kids higher that play in the US All American Bowl. ESPN ranks the kids higher that play in the ESPN Under Armor Bowl.

Not sure if Scout or 24/7 have an agenda.
