11/16 Playoff Updates
Re: 11/16 Playoff Updates
Nope...I am right here. Have to admit...didnt see that coming. I admit I was wrong about that game (obviously). Glad to see Hayes showed class and didn't run up the score...oh wait....nevermind...i forgot. He has no class..........

No class? Why? Did he try an onside kick with a big lead late in the game???

Re: 11/16 Playoff Updates
HAHA!!! I should've expected a response like that from a Juniata Valley follower. Did you think it was running up the score when BA was up on JV 47-20 and pulled the starters in the 4th quarter? Then JV leaves their starters in and scores 2 late TD's to make everyone think the game was closer than it actually was. Heck, BA could've hung 54 (or more) on you too. Don't blame a team for running up the score when the 4th string tailback scores a TD in a district championship game. Those kids practice too. And deserve a chance to go out and play their hardest when they get in the game. And with all the heartache McCort has given BA over the last few years, they had that one coming.
The more interesting thing to talk about with the score getting out of hand is the state of the McCort program. Correct me if I'm wrong, but i think they played a lot of seniors this year. When both teams put in the back-ups on saturday, it looked like McCort's drop off in talent from 1st to 2nd string was far worse than BA's. Couple that with a 2-5 record for McCort's 9th graders, what are we going to see from them the next few years??

Re: 11/16 Playoff Updates
Hayes did not run up any score on Saturday. The whole 4th quarter was pitch right and pitch left every play. I've seen Bellwood four times this season, and didn't recognize any of the kids in there late in the tail end of the game.
I know McCort had some problems with getting all of the talent in the school actually playing football, actually heard that has been going around at many schools. The Tyrone coaches said they have a group of kids not playing that could rival the team. Only 5 juniors for Tyrone. Seems this is the trend at a lot of places.
McCort will have some talent coming back next season. The strength will lie on the Linemen and size. Only 1-2 true playmakers from what I have seen this season, and no sure QB or RB. Could be looking at a 4-5 win season next year.

Re: 11/16 Playoff Updates
Outside of DiFrancesco at WR and Rugg at RB , I've got no idea who'll be the playmakers on offense. The line will be an advantage, but right now there is no QB and only 1 WR and 1 RB. I'm very worried about the 33 consecutive winning seasons.Crimson's Ghost wrote: McCort will have some talent coming back next season. The strength will lie on the Linemen and size. Do you think they will move DiFrancesco to QB next year?

Doubtful. I could see him at Running Back though. There is a really good QB in that school.

Tyler Rugg will be the power type back next year, DiFrancesco could complement him as the speed guy but I think he sticks at WR. He becomes the threat to stretch the defense with Spangler now gone.

Re: 11/16 Playoff Updates
Junior high was 2-6 this year, however, 8th grade was undefeated. And they're losing 11 seniors, which isn't many, but only return 10 letter winners by my count. The same 18-20 kids, 9 of which were seniors, got 100% of the non-mop up role snaps this year.Warrior1554 wrote:How many seniors is Mccort losing, and whats coming up from Junior high next season?
