Moldo, out of curiosity, how does UCONN match up against Stanford and Georgia?

Every year we hear the same thing. The Big Ten $hits to bed during the bowl season, and we have to hear how tough their opponents are. Listen, the Big Ten ties themselves into 7 automatic bowl games every year. That's the way it is. Whatever opponent matches up with the Big Ten teams is just the way it is. And what's funny is, after constantly having a below .500 bowl record every year, we have to compare the Big Ten to the Big East. Big Ten fans can't defend their conference so they have to pick on another. The Uncola philosophy. Yesterday Coach was beside himself about how Pitt fans talk about Penn State. yet he's on here comparing the Big East to the Big Ten. Guess that's OK. Cut on Pitt and the Big East but leave Penn State and the Big Ten alone.

Don't doubt the Ghost, Clemson and the Ville both won. For the fun of it all, I like Oregon,Oklahoma,Pitt,Kent State, and Bama in the last ones

All the bowl games strive to find good matchups by the best teams they can get. Did Georgia destroy Nebraska? Did Stanford beat Wisconsin by 40 points? Did Minnesota lose by 70? Did a bad Michigan team get annihalated by So. Carolina? No, all those games were very competitive. Penn State was 8-4 and Ohio State went undefeated, two teams who couldn't participate in the post season.

I'm not "happy" the Big Ten lost those close games, but I am definitely happy to see them being competitive. Is that not a step in the right direction?

It IS a step in the right direction if Big Ten teams are being slaughtered every year and now are making their losses close. But year after year they keep going 2-5 or 3-4, which is essentially showing no improvement. By the same token, if the Big Ten bowl teams were only winning games by 1 or 2 points, would you be disappointed, and complaining that they aren't good because they aren't winning more impressively?

Just an observation... if these bowl games are like pay per view fights... the last 25 years of pitt bowls = springer reruns

Pitt may not have had a lot of luck in bowls lately, but the ENTIRE Big Ten Conference has been mediocre recently in bowl appearances. The BTN network is besides themselves trying to analyse the performances of their conference teams.

And BTW...there are 2 B1g teams that lost this year that probably wouldn't be bowling if the top 2 teams in the conference had been eligible
