BigSkyCountry wrote:The officials for the WestPAC championship games rotate annually between the northern Cambria, steel city and Somerset chapter. The chapter officials choose which officials will be doing the games. CT did play an extremely aggressive style of d last night. The officials called it tight. From what I have seen in the past, wpial officials would have allowed a lot of the calls that were made last night to be no calls. Kids and coaches have to adjust to officiating styles. Perhaps a call or two last night could have been intentional calls and were not. Outside of that, I don't think the game was called that bad. CT had lost opportunities and missed a few too many close range shots. It wasn't their night. Shades shooting was hot. Entertaining game. Great crowd promoted a great atmosphere. Good luck to both teams in districts and beyond.

Have to give kiddos on a couple of something's that I saw that wasn't affiliated with action on the floor.
1. Really neat that the portage student section sang the alma mater when the game was over - now that is school pride. Way to go portage students!
2. The young lady that sang the NA for the boys game was spectacular!
3. All 4 teams that played last night left it all go on the floor and played with a great deal of heart. Great games by all team members from portage, Berlin, CT and shade. I hope you are all district champions!
agree 100% great games to see. the girl maggie is from c.t. and both her and her sister are amazing at singing. shade played the best game they played all year and deserve the game, i just dont like the idea of refs who do most of a teams regular season games doing a championship game. has nothing to do with who is playing that was my point.

Bet those guys would be fair if they did do their games, but that would put them in a no win situation. There are a lot of officials for bball from the ct area. Many of them coach a sport at ct I believe. Def. no win for them.

your right even if they call it they would be accused so they just do other games so its never an issue. and they do all coach at c.t
