Re: Monday 2/18 Playoff Scores
I was being facetious i thought this would be a good game a battle tested team from a strong conference vs a top team from a weaker conference. Although i dont think the heritage was as weak as it had been in the past.

Richland actually came out on fire in the 3rd quarter and took the lead after trailing by 10 at the half. Northern Cambria played a pretty good game besides missing so many foul shots. Depth could hurt them against better teams though if they get in foul trouble because all their points came from their starters tonight. Very well played second half after a sloppy first.

Northern can be a very up and down team i watched them lose to ligonier by 5 then they beat them by about 30. I think if they play to their potetional they can be a real competitor.

konjo78 - first ICC North vs Heritage game - Saltsburg vs Glendale. Two middle to lower conf. teams vs. each other. Close, but Glendale wins. I think JV vs. BV and Wbrg vs. HC are the other games with these confs. head to head. I really think these games will be close as well, but I really like the ICC North chances in these games also. ICC or Heritage vs. LHAC is a whole different ballgame
ICC north was much better this season than the past several years and looks to be strong at least for the next few seasons. In addition to the three A teams above, WB lost to Tyrone, played w/o Emigh and Pennington, their two leaders, and still managed to somehow stay within 8. MU had a winning season, and opted not to enter ???, Bellwood w/ Davis looks as good as any to win D6AA

I'd rank the LHAC as follows, BM,BC,PC,Jtown,BG,Som,CH,and Richland. Northern Cambria lost to the 7th beat LHAC team by two in the season, and beat #8 in the playoffs by 5. I like NC a lot, but they have no depth. Their starters played essentially the whole game, if they get some foul trouble, it will be interesting to see how they fare. Tyrone-NC should be a good second round battle.

The lhac went 8-5 in matchups against the westpac this season. BG and Ferndale will be a playoff lhac vs westpac matchup
Re: Monday 2/18 Playoff Scores
I saw somerset pound shanksville right off the very tip all the way until the end. Wasn't even close. Was up 40 at 1 point and put 4th team in and cleared the bench and ended up 29 I think. Shade only played central cambria and they are not that good. I wish shade could play mccort, j-town and others. I know shade scrimmaged all these teams and fared well against them, but scrimmage is much different than a game. Somersets coaches just throw kids in and there is no coaching by them. Now shanksville uses starters and runs plays and all just like regular season. Kids are always missing for other sports and teams usually aren't with all the starters. I think that is the reason shanksville was decent because it was one team that always had there starters and they ran different offenses and defenses. They played it to win with starters and plays. Somerset just put kids in and played street ball. And in scrimmages the vikings got the better of somersets mixed lineups and substitutions and no coaching most times. But when they met during the season, the vikings were no match to the talent somerset has when they used starters and plays.

Re: Monday 2/18 Playoff Scores
Heritage has won 7 of the 13 district 6 Single A titles this century. Konjo, Heritage is much stronger historically at basketball than football, with NC, Saltsburg, Blairsville, and Homer-Center all having district titles in that stretch. Bishop's have 4 in that stretch (BC and BG); Williamsburg and CV have other two so only 1 for Westpac and 1 for ICC. Heritage presence in bball hasn't been as strong as it was (probably was at its peak in early 2000's with NC, Saltsburg, and Homer-Center all premier district caliber teams). Not for sure what things look like at junior high level for future...
Heritage's best teams were all Single A in that stretch except Northern Cambria in early 2000's which won AA over Westmont (they have been Single A since then until this year and have been very good after dismal stretch). Will be interesting to see where NC ends up this year. Don't think they're as good as that team. That NC team had good shot at Final Four but street ball caught up to them in buzzer-beater loss to Wilkinsburg in opening round.
Crimson, everyone can agree that BC is one of the best teams in d6 in A or AA. I actually thought they were the best and would probably still take them to beat McCort tomorrow (but that doesn't matter b/c its just my opinion; McCort won the game that mattered). Don't know why BC played Hollidaysburg night before and still think the LHAC should change the conference title game from Saturday, simply too close to district playoffs. Aren't they the conference that starts later; should be simple just bump up the games one slot and play the championship on Thursday or Friday if you want weekend. Is that why McCort's game is Tuesday this week? No matter what, though, the point is that everyone can agree that BC is as good as anyone in A or AA and BG isn't far behind. So the major difference between A and AA isn't the talented teams at the top. It's the depth of the classes. Single A weak after first few teams. Double A much deeper.
