Oh I thought you were talking about the team itself, I guess that isn't convenient for their fans. But the real reason would be because Richland is bigger than Bishop Carroll. They can get more fans in there

Re: Playoffs and fan travel considerations
Either or. PC has played at Richland one time this year and I'm not sure about McCort. The way I look at is that these teams work hard all year to get a good seed so that when playoffs come they have a game closer to home. And Bishop Carroll holds about the same amount of people. If Richland does hold more its not by much. Teams are not being rewarded for having a good season and working hard if its all about money for the piaa or district 6. And if that's the case who would benefit more from the money if the schools get some? BC or Richland?

footballfan12 - I dont get what you mean. A bball floor is a bball floor, this game or the next. Fans can sit in any of them. If 15 miles more driving time is an advantage to a bball team then I am missing something.

If McCort gets more fans there then PC and are louder then it does become an advantage for McCort. And I know from experience that the refs tend to side with the team that has more fans ( just like a home game for all teams ). I just really wanted to know who and how the sites are determined. I agree that a basketball court is the same no matter what. You still have to put the ball in a 10 foot basketball but you can't deny that it does happen ( what I stated earlier).

The two teams have met here in the playoffs the past two years. The crowds are pretty equal. Loud on both sides.

I have played in enough games and been to enough games both regular season and post season to have seen that this does in fact happen. You may not like to think that but it does and has happened.

Actually in Idaho and Washington high school playoffs are in top seeds gym up until state finals.

Not one to toot a MAJOR homer horn in here but we'll said Crimson. After graduating and still attending different Portage road events as a fan I was really able to take in how just how many fans we had representing us at different sporting facilities. Another reason I don't usually say much on here about it, is because anytime someone brings up Portage being on the road or at home even all you ever hear usually is complaints about how our fans try and "take over" not only our own side but the opposing teams side. This isn't a rude or ignorant thing, our fans really just are looking for a place to sit most of the time because ours is filled up because road bleachers at a lot of places aren't that impressive to say the least. Oh well we just take it in stride anymore.Crimson's Ghost wrote:Portage fans sell themselves short. They think any A or AA public school has fans travel like they do. Far from the case. Portage fans do an unbelievable job, and they take pride on their town. Better than anyone in D6. Bellwood and Tyrone are great for football, not big travelers for other sports. They do an excellent job.
Good Luck on Friday Lady Mustangs you've already made your community mighty proud and have had a blast watching this journey. To the fans It's been awesome as usually seeing all the green, white and black pack the stands and really get into it. Following some of the players twitters they tweet all the time about hearing the "community of fans" cheering them during the game. Also a big shout out to "The Herd" student section who has been there ALL SEASON supporting ya'll in great numbers especially at the WestPac Championship and D6 Playoffs.....Time to Pack the Stokes Center Friday Evening Mustang Nation !!!
