2/27 playoff scores and updates!
Re: 2/27 playoff scores and updates!
Not sure exactly, but shanksville won like 63-48? and shade beat berlin by like 12 or so. Medva came thru for shade not nash, I was wrong. I knew one of the two would. Berlin played the triangle-n-2 on walker and fyock and medvas quickness burned berlin.

Anyone heard a score from the Westinghouse/johnstown girls 6-AAA game?

Funny how these games play out. BM beats BC twice. BC beats PC twice. But PC beats BM twice.

Somerset boys beat a much improved bedford team today at richland by 14 or so and will play at st francis vs j-town for the d-6aaa championship. J-town won the two in season games. If bedford had better ball handling and less turnovers, they would be tough. That #5 black is his last name is tough inside and out. J-town should beat somerset, but you never know, if somerset strokes the 3 ball the way they can, they can beat anyone.

Re: 2/27 playoff scores and updates!
Sorry for the lack of Twitter updates, my battery has been dying real quick lately. Probably going for a new phone this weekend.
Penn Cambria beats Bishop McCort 44-40. Very tight game, and a very poor offensive game. McCort didn't get much of anything for anyone outside of Trexler. PC used a team effort, Leahey wasn't totally on. Mack Behe had some exceptional passes.
It looked like PC was going to run away with it, after a T by a McCort player. It was 37-29 with about 2 minutes left. Pastorek hit a 3, Trexler hit a 2, and just like that it was a close ball game. PC missed their foul shots from 5 minutes-2 minutes, but made them when they counted.
I thought officiating was fine. I think two bad calls towards the end, I think McCort got away with a pretty obvious carry and ended up scoring that possession. I also thought the refs called the jump ball too early when Rugg stole the ball and would've cut the game to 1 with a layup. But nothing that really cost anyone the game, and that's how it should be.
Oh, and once during the first half the ref stopped the game and told kids to stop pushing. Somehow it resulted in a jump ball giving it to PC, but the ball went out of bounds on a missed shot, and PC would have gotten possession anyway. The ref totally over stepped his boundary. I don't know his name, but he tries too much to be part of the game.
It was a well played game, standing room only crowd, two good student sections. Other than the poor offense, it was very entertaining.
