After seeing LP play last week, their talent is unmatched in Western Pa. However, I agree that they really didn't seem to be too interested in playing defense. Also, they didn't really seem to have much coaching. When you are 8-9 inches taller per man, I don't think you should be standing 25 feet from the hoop launching shots. Just my opinion!!!!

Seton LaSalle girls are a young but a very talented team. They could've competed with anyone in AAAA or AAA this end of the state. Canevin must have some good coaching, and know how to play this team.

Vaux will beat Johnsonburg by 20+, unless JBurg decides to hold it for a quarter.
Realistically, Vaux would beat Lincoln Park by 15 as well. They are just that good.

Rysheed Jordan is probably the second best player in PA after CHester's Rondae Jefferson. He is down to UCLA, St. John's, and Temple. They just ran through MCS with no problem, who had 3 Division One players themselves.

No, you can go to the Philadelphia school district website and Vaux is listed as one of their High Schools. But dot forget, Vaux's school district is the entire city of Philadelphia.

It's the same as playing Westinghouse, except Vaux could probably win the AA and maybe even AAA state title. They only lost to Imhotep Charter by 2.

Your right Tri Valley is very good and a classy team, I cant see them losing in the State Championship. If they lose my hats off to Vincentian.

Wpial titan you obviously haven't seen Johnsonburg play if your using Hoosiers as an analogy when they beat LP. That may be the case for the Vaux game but certainly not LP. The 6'2'' white guard (sorry can't remember his name) from last year wasn't the best player on the team but he is what made them go and Watson clogging the entire lane on defense made everything easier for all the other guys on d. This year they are a bunch of great athletes with no leadership and lack of effort. Johnsonburg not only plays very hard but due to their zone press schemes and alternating zone sets in the half court make them very tough. They have 2 legitimate D2 players that make them go but like any good role player their role players are capable of hitting shots, sinking free throws, and rebounding. Going into this game I thought it would be close and I am glad that the team that wanted it more is the one who prevailed.

True, I haven;t seen them play but Johnsonburg must be solid. The Hoosiers comparison was not a play on their personnel (hey, Jimmy Chitwood was pretty darn good), but more a comparsion of a team from rural small town nowhere, PA vs. a team who has exotic players from all over the metro Pittsburgh, PA area.

You couldn't be more correct with the statement that LP is a bunch of great athletes with little to no direction, leaderrship, or effort. A team like Jburg who can switch defense, has two good guards who can handle their size and traps, and a team that plays disciplined basketball is exactly the type of team who can trump all that talent. Even Bishop Carroll played into the 80s with them and nearly beat them at their own game.

That doesn't mean that LP still isn't the most physically talented HS boys' basketball team west of Philadelphia, PA in A, AA, or AAA. They are. Period. Only a handful of WPIAL AAAA teams namely New Castle and Erie Cathedral Prep out of District 10 have equal or better athletes than LP.
