93.7 Stated a transfer rumor? Any news on it?

Yeah it's true. The word is the coaching staff called him out for being lazy and not being a hard worker, and one ounce of criticism has him running. That's the problem with kids like this, he has never had to hear a bad thing about himself. Coaches, fans, creepy twitter stalkers.....They all told him he was the best. He never ha to lift a weight, because he was naturally stronger than everyone else. Now he isn't, it time to grow up.

Not just 93.7 -- PantherLair and WPIAL Insider each reported he's in the process of seeking transfer. KDKA also has their sources. All reports now are that he's thinking of transferring but nothing official yet.

I texted a player on the team last night what was the likelihood of Shell transferring. He responded to me this morning '90 percent'.

Such a dang shame for Pitt and for Shell. I don't know what other school in the country where he will be put into a better situation...

Back when he committed to Pitt he stated that one of the reasons he going to Pitt was so he stay close to his kid. Guess that is no longer going to be a determining factor unless he transfers to Robert Morris, Duquesne, Cal U, or The Rock.

He is sticking with Pitt, so it would seem. Chryst is giving him time to figure things out. The story blew out I proportion, mainly due to those who broke it. The Finest Prep blog is done by two young guys (much like D6SN) and they caught wind that Shell was upset from some of their connects, so like most start up companies, they ran with it and made it headline news. Good for them. I doubt it woul have gotten that big without them.

I wouldn't say that much. The guys got their information from current Pitt players. They did a fine job reporting what was told to them. Heck, an Arizona State football player tweeted to Rushel Shell "Welcome to ASU". The story had traction, and I would imagine the words transferring came out of Shell's mouth. But I do think, it was more of a nervous breakdown, frustrated 19 year old spitting nonsense.

I mean if the guy really wanted to transfer, it would have happened. I think he threatened to transfer, and it got misconstrued a bit.
