Bedford's pretty good, but every team is better when you pick up some unearned runs in the 7th inning.

McCort and Somerset are both really good. McCort has most of its starters back from last year and Somerset is loaded with talent. You most likely won't win them all in baseball. Both McCort and Somerset have quality schedules, so we'll see which teams are best in D6 as Somerset has Hollidaysburg and State College and McCort has Punx, and Altoona.

With all that said, I think Hollidaysburg is the strongest A-AAA team and I know nothing about the AAAA teams in D6.

Bedford is a fairly strong team with great chemistry. The only question I have is depth in the pitching position... also Tussey@NB today.. looks to be NB's first home game

I kinda forgot Hollidaysburg was only AAA. Still in my basketball mindset I guess. Either way, I'd think Somerset and McCort could give them a game. My guess the starters today would be Stuffler-Vardian. Very good pitching there.

Somerset still has Stiffler,Mostellor,Stull, and the DiRenzo brothers. That's a real good nucleus. McCort seems loaded to me with a pitching staff of Vardian,Neiderhiser, and Coleman. Williams,Trexler, Sobecky are all good players too. BM did beat BEA last season. I thought last year they were good enough to win the AA state championship, they did lose four key guys, but they have the talent to repeat. BG can be very good when Pugh is pitching.

Drew Hemminger is still at Somerset as well. Four year starter and very good player. People tend to forget about him, but he might be the best overall player on that team and that is saying a lot.

For those interested in following that game today, McCort uses an app called "Game Changer". And it keeps you updated throughout the game with pitch by pitch. I was checking on it a little yesterday, pretty easy to follow.

Claysburg over BG 3-2 at the Curve Classic. Claar goes the distance for CK, looked real sharp. Pugh was hitting around 86 all day. I didn't get there until the second, but an Altoona guy told me he hit 89 in the 1st. Claysburg could make noise in 6A, Claar is tough on the mound and they have a couple other decent arms as well.
