I would have to agree here, they were comparable except for one thing... They didn't make it to states. Comparable but I still would take those teams over the Richland team just on that aspect. Also both McCort and Tyrone were within a few key plays of winning a state title. On the other hand Richland does have the tools to get back there again and breakthrough to the title game.

Re: D6SN Greatest teams of the 2000's
Taking a look at the three teams from a depth chart perspective...
QB
1. Franco-Had the senior moxie, very smart player. Senior smarts.
2. Shaffer- Good athlete, dual threat. Only a junior.
3. Pinkerton- Hurt early on, team's running game went on without him. Never grew as a passer.
RB
1. Seidel-had a spectacular senior season, really one of the better HS players I watched locally.
2. Solarczyk- Big bruiser. very reliable back.
3. Getz- Loved his game, very versatile. Great threat in the passing game.
WR/Athletes
1. Patton/Wilson-Adams-Dorminy- all complemented the offense perfectly. All dynamic in their own way. Patton's speed, Wilson-Adams freak athletic ability, and Dorminy's reliability.
2. Domonkos/Merriman It should be noted McCort rarely passed. Merriman rushed for 800+ yards, Domonkos could do literally everything from Wildcat, receiver, pass catcher, kicker, punter ect
3. Shertzer/Flick- very good pass catchers, and reliable. Both similar players. I liked their route running skills. Fit the spread offense style well.
Lines
Its hard to say because they were all very good lines. The Richland line with Dinniny paved the way for a prolific balanced offense. Rugg and Belskey laid the ground for Seidel and Merriman, and the Tyrone kids had a very dynamic offense. Its hard to say which one is better.
Defenses I'd rank them...
1. Tyrone
2. McCort
3. Richland
Special teams
1. McCort
2. Richland
3. Tyrone
Level of competition
1. Tyrone
2. Richland
3. McCort
Team that knocked them out
1. Lancaster Catholic
2. Clairton
3. Aliquippa
And a lot of those are by the slightest margins.
