Pens vs Sens - Round 2 Official Thread (any other rd 2 NHL t

I think the Pens will look a lot smoother in this series. However,it's the playoffs. People need to realize the entire game just is so different in the playoffs.

Red Wings vs. Blackhawks
Sharks vs. Kings
Senators vs. Penguins

and the last one TBD tonight with a pair of game 7's.

Obviously Red Wings-Blackhawks has its history with two of the original six. That one will be spirited and fun to watch. If you can stay up late, the Sharks-Kings will be fast paced and exciting.

Pens could be the Sens in 5 games, or 7. Depending on what team shows up.

But hey, two Game 7's tonight, enjoy.

HCDB sticking with the hot hand in Vokoun in this one... thoughts? I personally like the decision. To steal a quote "if Pens are going to make a deep run they will probably need MAF again at some point so why rush it?" If/when MAF comes back lets hope this time on the pine has lit a spark and not compounded the problems between his ears.

This series appears to be strength (Pens offense) against strength (Sens defense). Craig Anderson seems to have had struggles against the Pens in the past so lets hope that continues. I have a feeling the Pens D will appear to be a little strong this series if only because Ottawa is limited offensively.

At the end of the day I think the Pens just have too much firepower for Ottawa to keep up on the scoreboard and thats all that matters.

Pens in 5.

Not much chatter for the past week and a half on the Pens... kinda disappointing.

Anyways, pretty much total domination of Ottawa as most would have expected. I know it's a small sample size and he was just getting back from his injury but Erik Karlsson did not look like a very good hockey player. He was directly responsible for probably 5-6 goals in the series. Next time someone calls Crosby a "whiner" they need to just watch Karlsson play for 10 minutes... amusing. Having his name attached to the Norris is an embarrassment for Mr. Norris and any other legitimate winner.

If (hate that word) the Pens offense keeps on a pace anything close to this they are going to be a very, very tough out at this point. Neither Boston or NYR can score enough goals to keep up with this hellish pace. As a hockey fan I was looking forward to a showdown in the finals between Chicago and the Pens... I guess Detroit has other plans. Still gotta close em out but that's a spot I doubt anyone saw the BHawks being in. I'd love to see NYR steal another one tonight and stretch that one out a little longer... an extra days rest wouldn't hurt anyone.

Lets Go Pens!
