Ultimate Football Tour 2013 - Distict 5/6
Ultimate Football Tour 2013 - Distict 5/6
I have a friend who actually does something like this. Here is my goal...you can't go to the same stadium more than once and you can't see a single team more than twice. If I didn't coach this is something I'd likely do.
Week 1- Tyrone @ Bellwood - This is the pick for obvious reasons. Neighbors, great teams, and great tradition.
Week 2- McCort @ Forest Hills - This is a great early season matchup FH has facilities that are really cool to check out. Their indoor facility is sweet!
Week 3- Clearfield @ Central - There will be some terrific athletes on the field in this. The field at Roaring Spring is one of my favorites to visit. Lezzer, Moore, and Cunningham could put on a show!
Week 4- State College @ Harrisburg - Go to McCort vs Bedford or Bellwood at JV or Northern Cambria at Blairsville on Friday night then follow it up with this AAAA clash on Saturday.
Week 5- Berlin @ North Star - I'm personally not a huge fan of the NS field but this should be a fun, high scoring game.
Week 6- Fort Hill, Md @ Central - I ended up at the same place twice but this game will be awesome. Fort Hill fans travel like crazy and this will just be too fun to miss because of a rule that I'm going to have to break. If you must go somewhere else check out Bellwood at Everett. The Warriors could have the team to play with Bellwood this year.
Week 7- Windber @ Portage - Great rivalry game and I'm sure the WestPac crown will be on the line. Portage has a great old school stadium that is beautiful. This place will be packed and will be a reminder as to why small school football is great! Get some wings before the game!
Week 8- Penn Cambria @ Richland - I figure by this time you'll want to preview the Rams before the playoffs and PC will be a formidable opponent.
Week 9- Portage @ Blairsville - Enjoy a trip to the far reaches of D6 for a good out of conference matchup. Does Blairsville still have the school bus in the end zone? I'm biased but a trip to Northern Bedford in late October is worth the trip just for the view... If you missed the Fort Hill road show before you could check them out at Chestnut Ridge as an alternate game as well!
Week 10- Chestnut Ridge @ Bedford This final week has lots of interesting matchups. A trip to Richland would allow you to see them and Bellwood (A and AA favorites). A trip to Tyrone lets you see the Golden Eagles and Johnstown Trojans. But I'm saving week 10 for another old school rivalry game where the two schools really don't like each other and I have high hopes for both teams...week 10 I'm making the trip to Bedford to see the Lions and Bisons in a 5-AA clash. I also reserve this week to see any game that has major playoff implications. This game just might be that too, as the three teams in 5-AA are all tough and I think Everett is a lock based on the likelihood they win the most games out of the three.
This would make a fun 10 weeks of football...that's for sure!

Cant argue with fh/BM week two but mountain league showdown with central visiting Tyrone will be just as huge.... Tough call there

That would have made 3 Central games.... Their schedule is awesome and so stinking tough.

Reminds you of their schedule back in the LHC but the only difference now is that they are the fore runners in the district...Can being at the fore front continue?Coach wrote:That would have made 3 Central games.... Their schedule is awesome and so stinking tough.
