JV 3 Williamsburg 0. Short scrimmage. Besides one long pass by wb QB jv defense shut them down. Wb QB shifty and can elude the rush. Claar and Taylor looked good for JV

CC has a long TD run by Seymour and a Field Goal. Trexler basically moved the chains himself and Rugg got the TD. 10-7 CC

CC again with some big plays from Seymour. Neither team looks overly impressive if it weren't for the running of the QBs. Poor tackling all around, especially McCort. 17-7

Week 2 Scrimmages

Post by Crimson's Ghost »

I left not sure if the varsity will come back out. To recap Will Seymour of CC and Nemo Trexler from McCort made a lot happen with their feet. Some poor tackling on both sides. Still looked like August football any way you shake it. CC played better all around More disciplined, McCort had 2 costly penalties one to aid a CC drive, and one that set them back with a 3 and 30. McCort has a lot of issues on timing in the passing game, which should come with a new QB. Seymour looked real good, and you could tell he started last season.

Tussey ran all over Rockwood tonight. The Rockets only had 12 kids dressed. The word around the field was that if they don't get anymore kids out for the team between the two schools (Turkeyfoot or Rockwood) this will be the last time you see the Rockets dressed this fall

Somerset got the better of ligonier tonight. A nice hard hitting game though! Didn't see any player with d-1 talent. Stull shut the 6-7 kid down and he and barnes had one heck of a scrimmage both sides of the ball. Somerset needs to get both of those two on the offense together as they clearly were the best runners. Unfortunately they are both qbs. They need to put one at rb and 1 at qb. Also eller, van litten, and boyer are tough as heck on defense and need to shore up that offensive line. Good luck to both teams and a great scrimmage by both teams. Somersets defense is really good! Offense needs some adjustments and a little tweeking with the right players and they will be tough to beat.

Portage beat Homer Center 7-6 in a 10 plays each and then one full quarter scrimmage. Things got a little heated early with a Homer kid being thrown out of the scrimmage. The scrimmage really had the intensity of a real game. Portage's line seemed to get manhandled on both sides of the ball, but two of their starters were not dressed. Also, Kephart played limited plays on offense and did not play any defense at all. Bryja looked really good throwing the ball. He had some nice passes and threw their only td of the night to Randazzo. Mike Newhouse looked really good running the ball for Homer Center.
