Re: The Big Question will McCort Win a Game
Coach carter ever conference has guaranteed wins every season. For a time in lhac is was westont and bishop guilfoyle and even bishop Carroll some years. I do believe its sad what the lhac did but it let's them control their own fates with numbers. Don't be surprised to see Johnstown added to all catholics schedules to boost their point potential. Westpac and heritage badly needs to merge together or some teams come to heritage. Creating a system like lhac for those two conferences would benefit those teams largely. Plus I know we don't like portage so maybe we could knock them down a few knotches from their westpac high hold ;) <---- just a joke portage people. Calm down

Westpac has allowed teams to schedule a Heritage game the past 2 years. Portage was lucky to get 2 Heritage games with Blairsville and Homer Center.

Konjo, I agree all conferences have gimmie wins. I am not ripping on Portage just stating that they prob have a few more then most and it helps them get into the playoffs this year. And now with the 8 game format D6 A is using it comes into play even more. for And Windber, NS and Berlin have benefited the same way. I remember when I first moved back to the area the top LHAC teams could count on Heights,Central, Richland and Somerset as easy wins. It is going to be tough for a 5-5 class A team to get in now.
Re: The Big Question will McCort Win a Game
coaching is the major problem, and the fact that they installed a new offense that they don't have the players for

Konjo- The 'Catholics' can't just decide the want to play Johnston. Johnstown's schedule is set by the LHAC other than game 10.

That's my point. Lhac wants their teams in playoffs. They'll schedule it in best way they may get in on pointsGrapeApe wrote:Konjo- The 'Catholics' can't just decide the want to play Johnston. Johnstown's schedule is set by the LHAC other than game 10.

I think the LHAC schedule just rotates. You can predict it for the next X number of years, unless I'm being naive. When Jtown falls off BM, BC, or BG's schedules, they're just off.

Re: The Big Question will McCort Win a Game
The schedule goes by two sections. You always play the 5 same schools in your section. Then 4 of the other 6 on a rotation basis. Just a few years ago we saw McCort and Forest Hills both go undefeated in the league and they never got to play. I believe that was 2009 when McCort went to the class A championship and FH went to the AA Western Final.
Re: The Big Question will McCort Win a Game
Johnstown's section includes BMCHS, Westmont, Somerset, Bedford, Richland. Every year, unless there is a re-alignment, like Carroll and Bedford switching a couple years ago, and Guilfoyle taking the place of Martinsburg Central when they bolted.
It ain't over until it's over.
